But don't know what...

I have a Glock 17, a Steyr m9 and a Browning Buckmark (my favorite) I think another 22 plinker might be needed. Or would I be better off with a 22 conversion kit for the Glock?

I have a few .22LR pew pews: a revolver, a dedicated 1911 .22LR and a .22LR Kimber conversion kit. I have yet to use the kit and it costs pretty much the same or more than a SIG branded GSG... I'd get a dedicated .22LR and this time around it would likely be a polymer pistol. Just my thoughts.

If you’ve already got a Buckmark you’ve pretty much got your bases covered for plinking and entry level target shooting. Unless there’s a very specific niche you’re looking to fill, another semi-auto will just be more of the same. So, how about a revolver? The S&W 17 and 617 are very nice.

I do live my revolvers, sadly when forced to downsize those went first.

And now you're upsizing again? Seems like a perfect time for another .22 revolver! S&W 17's or 617's are wonderful pieces. But pricey. What about a Pietta 1873 single action in .22? Or find an older Ruger Single Six?

ya youve got the buckmark, in my book that is top shelf for mid level plinkers as far as im concerned.

if you have a G17 you could look at the G44 - glocks recent stroll into the realm of 22LR.
i just picked one up, mirror image to my G17.
so it should be a good training plinker.

S&W SW22 Victory.
Awesome gun!
Ruger Wrangler is next on my list, I simply refuse to pay above $300 for one.

Get a GSG. A lot of fun for a .22. I sold my buckmark after i got one. Also dont get the glock .22 kit. They are crap

That's good to hear, as I wait for the CFO to approve the transfer on a gsg from out east, I debated the conversion kits but I went with a dedicated plinker for the new wave of friends who now understand the need to take the firearms course over the last few months.

There seems to be a bunch of reasonably priced S&W 17's being listed recently..... by reasonable I mean around $600.
If you miss your revolvers I'd go that route, maybe even a nice old model single six if your patient.

+1 for the s&w 617-Probably the most enjoyable 22 pistol that I've shot. Very accurate + great trigger. For whatever reason I always seem to leave the semi auto 22's behind and reach for the revolver when headed to the range

Is a Single Action Army clone in 22 worth having with the monotonous constant ejection of shells one by one. SAA is a classic, but would a Ruger Mk IV be a better plinker?
