Black Bear King of the internet COVID edition

Congrats Suther! Sounds a lot more fun than sitting over a barrel like I did.
I was unsuccessful, however I was thinking, if I did get my first bear I'd be gutting it alone for the first time and the mosquitoes/blackflies would destroy me while trying frantically to get everything right in the hot weather. Almost glad I can wait till fall lol.
Does anyone know if I use my spring tag in the fall successfully, can I still buy a 2nd tag?

I was went on a short solo hike to North Cove near Kitimat BC along the Douglas Channel. Just came out at the cove and this fellow was feeding on the beach grass. Not a black bear but figured a few pics of a grizzly couldn't hurt. (to repeat I was only hiking. We can't hunt griz anymore in BC)

Ljones I’ve been on that same beach, very nice photos.

Another respectable fellow, doing bear things,

I got a nice picture on my phone of a grizzly on Vancouver Island, sort of rare for here. The pic was taken at Rock Bay just north of Campbell River. I will try to get the picture on here if I can figure it out.

Future hunter, just dropping in to express some admiration and soak up some inspiration. Enjoy the bush stories as much as the pictures! Fabulous work gentlemen!

Ardent, again, outstanding picture!!! As much as I love hunting, sitting in a stand and just watching bears doing bear things for hours is one of my absolute favourite!

Coastal blackies are definitely on my list, maybe I should hurry up before someone decides that black bears are also on the list of "not socially acceptable" species to hunt.

Thanks guys. This will be a hunt to remember, its not a monster nor is it my first bear, but it's my first big game hunt that I've done 100% solo from shot to freezer. I didn't get poured on while field dressing, only before and after, so all and all the weather worked out for me.

Just remember theres no baiting, and the terrain is steep... But c'mon down! Most hunters I know aren't big into bear for whatever reason, so unlike the fall deer season I haven't seen a ton of other hunters out and about.

For me chasing bears on the coast is just a reason to be out there, the place is mind blowing, there’s a natural hotspring 150 yards from this photo. Personally I’m having even more fun with a camera right now, all the fun none of the dirty work, as we’re not huge on bear meat in the family. Very happy for those who enjoy it here in the thread though.

I've seen your post of this photo before Ardent, surely a slice of personal paradise . . . that is one tranquil looking location.

Bears are the only critters I bait or they would otherwise be pretty hard to hunt unless you're chasing them in oat fields in the fall. As for steep country, I wasn't born and raised in Saskatchewan, I'll be good!!! haha

I wish BC and AB made hunts more accessible to Canadian Residents without guides or hosts. SK isn't the best but there are OTC bear opportunities for non-res as well as Draw Whitetail.
