CPC Leadership

The mantra of "anyone but conservatives" is alive and well. The libs will rule for a long time...dont believe me, just wait and see..this country is screwed!

This.
Everyone is looking for change.
Just an idea though, the liberals didn't get us to the here and now all by themselves.
Global economy=global slavery.
I'd like to think everyone I know could get behind a 'made in Canada' ACTUAL grass roots government. When is that going to be offered?

I'm sure there are plenty of liberal trolls on any forum trying to influence opinions. Actually, it's also possible that many liberals bought the CPC membership and will vote in such way that would benefit the liberals and derail the conservatives. Keep this in mind my friends.

Bingo............how we got Scheer

Can someone please explain how the tiered voting system works, or send me to the Conservative site where they explain it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I have my mind set on one candidate only, then I should not select secondary choices?

I remember back in the old days when the losing candidates would 'cross the floor' to join other front runners after each vote tally.

Thanks

pfff..one thing is for sure.with either o'tool or mackay,we will be defeated ,no doubts. let's try to loose again, right?

Just looked at a Lewis interview... she's has for sure even less balls than Sheer... If the Turd is a wolf, she looks like an anemic kitten with zero public orals skills.

We need to pull voters from the Liberals and NDP and people in the middle in order to win.

0 percent chance O'Toole could do that. 0 percent chance CPC wins if he is the leader.

Listen unfortunately the only option is to beat the liberals in the next election or nothing else will matter for our community. This is the fight to win or we go extinct. So in order to do so we need to water down our wine, pinch our nose and vote for the candidate that has the biggest chance to rally the most votes across Canada. Now is not the time to be idealists but to be pragmatic and regain the initiative...I believe MacKay is that man...sure he's a red Tory, but much better than a communist liberal that wants to send us to the gulags! Let's not make the same mistake and dilute our vote. This one is crucial...be strategic!

I can’t see O’Toole or MacKay having half a$$ chance of standing and winning against Turdo. Hate all you want Lewis is the only one who can stand against libs. Not because she is stronger candidate, she is qualified, she will learn and she can break votes away from left side.
Vote others and be prepared for Liberal majority.

There's more to the platforms than firearms. I'm a farmer. Erin O'Toole's Ag policy is beyond destructive. His carbon pricing Shiite will force most out of business. We are dependent on trade. His trade policy sucks. Period.

I believe he's doing his best to position the Cons to win more central votes in the GTA. The end game is to beat Trudeau. That's better than Sloan or Lewis who don't seem to have a plan on how to extend the Conservative voting base.

A lot of people seem to think that the CPC has a chance to win the next election. They don't, unless another disaster rears its head. I like O'toole's talking points but he is too close to Alberta, and Quebec and the GTA hate Alberta and Christians.

Peter McKay looks like an old woman in drag but no one will vote for Mrs. Doubtfire when they have Tropic Thunder running the show.

But all of that is irrelevant to the simple fact that the vast majority of Canadians will not vote Conservative. JT has bribed the entire population and they will be begging him to save them and start their new Communist Regime when the bill comes due.

People are all spoiled and forget that Joe Clark lost to TRUDEAU SENIOR by telling people that we need cut-backs and hirer taxes to repair the economy. Once the CPC says that during the next election, the Liberals will say that the CPC are heartless monsters and they will help people when they are suffering and desperate people will believe them. Then as soon as the Liberals win their Majority again they will raise taxes and take all of your rights away. Oh BTW we cannot afford to give you any money for your Murder Sticks because we need that money for Hospitals and Schools. This is the future.

Its time to rebuild the CPC for the 2025 and stop pretending that we can win with the Status Quo.

I am not wasting my vote by giving it to O'Toole or McKay. I am only voting for Lewis. No second place or third place vote. The CPC needs to clean house and rebuild.

FYI, I am a centrist agnostic Libertarian. I do not love our choices for the next CPC leader but I do know that another Old white dude is going to see the rest of my rifles at the bottom of lake in Canmore.

Lol. The last bit is truly priceless.

Exactly! Those who say we need to rebuild party from ground up, or those who are saying they won't support Mackay for x reason, or O'Toole for one of his policies, are OK with never owning anything remotely tactical, semi-automatic, and are willing to potentially lose all of their firearms (I am not joking, the Liberals want to see our destruction)! The firearms community, retailers, gun clubs, the whole 9 yards will be completely annihilated if we lose the next election, its that simple! The Liberals want to even come for our pinned mags now FFS!! I am astonished that many of you don't realize that at this point its either we win and we reclaim our ability to use our firearms, or we lose and we have nothing left within 5 years! There are only two drastically different outcomes, so choose your CPC candidate wisely and get out the vote when the next election is called.

Compromises is what got the right into this mess.

Compromises will not get us out of it.

Scheer was a compromise. He would've repealed C-71, yes, but then wanted red flag laws.

I don't just want the OIC and C-71 gone and things left as is. That's not a win, it's stalling until the election 5-10 years after that, when the Left wins again and hits even harder.

I want a candidate who will not just take away government overreach, but acknowledge a citizen's rights, as well. Anything less is useless to vote for. Don't kid yourself, otherwise.

The simple fact is that unless the CPC can elect someone with charisma, who is not seen as an old reactionary white guy, and who has a solid cogent environmental plan, we will not elect a CPC government. The Libs have written off the West and really have never given a rat's ass about it anyway; I suspect they know that AB and SK will go Blue, and BC if it doesn't go Blue will go NDP. The bulk of the population, the bulk of the seats, the bulk of the old money that runs the back rooms, that is in ON and Quebec. As usual, what Toronto wants and what Quebec wants will determine the election. Those people in Quebec who vote for the Bloc instead of for CPC will give the government to the Liberals. That is not meant to be inflammatory, just fact. For gun owners, I cannot understand why they would vote for the BLoc which supports keeping the long gun registry and backed the Liberals on the OIC.

I have two kids, age 16 and 18. We had an interesting discussion around the dinner table last night--even though she used to like shooting, my 18 year old daughter is now a social conscience/environment/anti-discrimination/anti-gun fanatic, who espouses the attitude that if I don't get compensated for my guns if they are confiscated, then that serves me right for buying them to begin with. She doesn't seem to understand, or want to understand, that this can apply to anything because she is typical of this younger generation--if they don't like something, then they think anyone who disagrees with them or anyone who owns that thing is just wrong. She likes Trudeau but under weight of argument from me about corruption like Champlain Oil, letting Morneau off from his insider trading, firing JWR for the SNC thing, she admitted he is corrupt but she likes Singh and would vote NDP. She said she would never vote CPC because they are too reactionary and too bigoted, and because they have no environmental plan. She feels that the biggest issue facing humanity is the environment and a party without a good plan is worthless; she does incidentally acknowledge that oil is crucial for most everyday things so she is not stupid. My son, who is 16, tends to agree.

And that, folks, is what we are up against. Firearms ownership is not an issue for most people, and most CERTAINLY not anyone much in Toronto. The Libs have been spraying money around, letting in illegal immigrants and then supporting them, so the folks on CERB, recent immigrants, etc, will all vote Liberal because they have been bought. Many young people will not vote CPC because they despised Scheer (gotta say I don't like him either) and see no useful environmental policy coming from the CPC, and most young people are by nature rather Left leaning (think young revolutionaries become old reactionaries). So, again, unless the CPC elects someone young and interesting, and has some new ideas on the issues dear to younger folks (I am 51 so don't consider myself old but I am talking about entitled Millennials and younger) which is environment, racism, etc, then the CPC has ZERO hope of winning the next election. And the education system and media have done a bangup job of spreading fear about guns and largely socialist ideas, so most not only don't care about gun ownership but are outright against it.

With no significant change in the current CPC platforms, and barring a miracle major mis-step by JT, I see ON going Liberal, Quebec either Liberal or Bloc, the Maritimes a split, the West CPC and the far WEst where I am (BC) some CPC but maybe mostly Lib and NDP and Green. And, since Singh has sold his soul to JT to extend the suspension of Parliament by another three months in exchange for more money to throw around, we will be stuck with getting all our government announcements from nice hair boy, with no chance to debate anything, and by the time Parliament is in session again, it will be snap election time.

His best isn’t listening to the farm vote obviously.

Wexit it is then. Bring on Jay Hill.

the old white dude running the CPC will end in disaster at the polls an a snap election or any election. the CPC would probably lose seats if "an old white dude" is at the helm. my $0.05

Excellent synopsis of our nuclear family and the depths to which it has sunk thanks to being bombarded by evil 24/7.
