Hey guys,

A while back we used to have monthly (or so) threads dedicated that recent finds in the Milsurp collecting world. I haven’t seen these in a while so I figured I’d start a thread for people to share their 2020 acquisitions. I always enjoyed seeing some interesting milsurps pop up from time to time!

I’ll start with one I picked up as a gift for my dad - a 1944 Winchester M1 Garand.

Some 100m groups using dedicated reloads. This rifle sure can shoot!

Best 3 shot group at 100m. This isn’t typical as much as I’d like it to be. The rifle typically held 2ish inch groups at 100m with handloads - which for a 76 year old rifle is fine by us!

At the range with a 1944 Inland M1 Carbine and a 1939 G29/40.

Post your finds!

Very nice rifle! I bet that would shoot very well.

Took it out last week and it handled like a dream. Didn't really group it for accuracy and was using cheap Barnaul ammo anyway. But the cycling was incredibly smooth and easy, even though I was using steel cased ammo!

Hi
Semi milsurp,
think i gotta thing for enfields

just got a P-14 that was converted to 338 win for $295

cheers J

Hi
Well I still seem to be finding different rifles

Wish I knew how to post photos ...

Today a lee enfield No4 but converted to 223 rem, bolt has been converted and the receiver has been given a ' bronze coating' unfortunately covering most of the serial

all I can make out so far is an M768xx , M for maltby maybe ?

newish barrel, old sights and comes with a 9x40 scope and mount

grand sum of $350, hate to think how much someone actually spent on doing the conversion

I am wondering if I can use 5.56 in it as well as 223 rem due to the strength of the No4 metal ?

then I wont need to use those 5.56 conversion bits on another rifle I have a Mk4 ( already sportized before I got it )

cheers J

Bought a 1899 dated Carcano 91/28 TS carbine in great shape, like the above I paid a little more than I wanted but couldn’t resist a first year carcano carbine. I’ll post photos later. This week I added a 1942 mosin Nagant To add a russian rifle to my german, British, Italian, and Canadian pieces

Has been a good year so far, picked up a nice Fin m28/30 via a WTB add on th EE, traded off a norc/usgi M14 several months back for a nice Syrian MAS49 and traded up for a nice 1933 K31. Only have pics of the M28/30 at the moment.

Nice! I just picked up an 1865 Spencer Carbine to go with my 1863 Sharps Carbine.

Next up will hopefully be an 1873 or earlier Trapdoor after I save some pennies.

Thanks! I have a centre fire breech block, brass and dies on the way. Now to find some .56-50 compatible projectiles...

Pictures as promised. First up an 1899 Brescia Carcano 91/28 TS carbine. This one went though arsenal refurb in 1939 at ### and is all matching:
