Single shot shotguns

You’re right, Cooeys and Winchester 37’s are much cheaper than a Henry; but they aren’t rated for 3.5” steel shot or Remchokes, either.

Plenty of barrel wall thickness to thread a Cooey 84 for chokes and they take 3” shells, in fact I’d love to see someone shooting 3.5” loads out of a light single shot 12g. A 3” kicks like a mule lol.

3.5 inch in a light single shot fits my definition of insanity.
3 inch in a Cooey 840 is not fun.
Heck, old 2 3/4 Imperial 12 gauge Goose loads in a Model 84 Cooey hurt.

I'll repeat: Tough to beat a Cooey 84 or 840. Winchester 37's are really nice old shotguns. I scored Brazil single 12 ga. that was marked for the Hudson Bay 1670-1970 anniversary. Despite all the naysayers, Cooeys always sell good at gun shows.

Interesting single at C&R Endeavors upcoming auction, Lot 227. Jones underlever hammer gun.
Might be an interesting project. Unfortunately there is a reserve opening bid.

A bt 99 is a trap gun with high comb stock even the syntax trap stock is high not suitable for live bird shooting unless you slyer the stock and even then marginal. Tube Winchester 37 best quality of all machined choke walnut stock very nice gun
