What is your preferred Canadian made barrel?

I too have/had some of Ron Smith barrels. Great. Ron’s son &grandson I think are doing most of the work. Have not seen one of his barrels be poor. ( look up rebar barrel. A great read).

Yeah Ron is stepping off a bit these days from a lot of the big work but he still is in the shop .
I shot with both him and Tom Bodnar back in the day , two real characters !

I have 2 of JC's barrels both are very accurate. The finish on them ( inside and out) is top notch. My next barrel will prob be another of JC'c.

For many years...many... Gaillard was a favourite... my customers loved them. I think Ted has backed off production a bit. I don't know as I don't order barrels, I let my customers source out the best deal they can.

The most recent barrel I installed and was very impressed with was a KS Arms. I had him thread the tenon for a metric thread (as I can't do metric) and it was as perfect as it could be...

IBI barrels are just excellent as well.

Pretty happy with the new JC 6mm barrel on my comp rifle. Have seen a few KS barrels that are just hammers and will probably try their barrels next year.

My Preference is IBI barrels.........
IBI does centerfire, Rimfire, and Carbon Fiber barrels.

However you can't really go wrong with any of the barrel manufacturers mentioned in this thread.

OK, I know we're talking on the target and precision forum, but speaking of the AR field, it's impossible to beat accuracy and long life of the world-sought-after Diemaco / Colt Canada cold forged barrel. Just wanted to get that in as the memory fades, and I hope saying so isn't on the current OIC list of prohibited things possible.

I have two Jury Custom barrels from Red Deer, AB. Both rifles are hunting rigs based on trued factory actions ... 338 WM and 7mm-08. The 338 was a we bit finicky but I found the right bullet (a 225 gr bear claw) at about 2700 is sub 2" at 300 yrds. This is a moose and bear rifle so plenty accurate. The 7mm-08 is dog nuts crazy. ragged holes with 140 gr AB's and well under MOA to 500 yrds. I haven't had a hand load or anything pre-rolled go over an inch. This from a 24" #1 contour tent pole. Cheers,

Awesome! I built a Remage custom bolt action a while ago. Pretty awesome setup - the remage concept. Used a Remington long action and plan on having an assortment of different chambered barrels to swap in as desired.
