Hello guys.
I just got my lower, looking to get an upper.
Should I get a 14.5 or 16'' midlength?
A 1:7 or 1:9 twist barrel?
Which make (RRA, ARMALITE, CMMG other?)
Where did you guys purchase your uppers ?
Thanks alot for the help on these complicated issues :D

My next AR will hopefully be a 16" midlength since that's about the only type I've never owned yet.
I am a range-monkey so most of the major brands will do.
Wolverine, Questar, Armseast all sell uppers.

Good luck finding new 14.5" or 11.5" ones these days.:(

What about a 1:8 Barrel?? Maybe an 18"..... :)

1:7 Twist likes heavy bullets... the cheap 55gr FMJ is not considered a heavy round.
Try finding 69gr or heavier ammo.... it is not cheap.

Go with the 1:8 or 1:9... You can shot the lighter/normal ammo.

:yingyang:???

I said the 1:7 *likes* the heavier bullets....Not that you can't shoot the lighter ones.
The performance of heavier rounds in a 1:7" is superior to using the same rounds in a 1:9....

I should stop reading the ammo oracle and listen to you guys??
.....Right........................

16"mid-length ,1;9,armalite or RRA

16"mid-lenght,its suppose to have a milder impulse then a carbine lenght system,so its easier on parts,so I've been told, and I think they only make the middy on a 16",maybe wrong.

1;9 good for most bullets.

Armalite is good ,they started the mid-length stuff ,IIRC,but you may find a RRA for a few beans less.

I am trying to buy a 20" AR. Every vendor I've contacted telling them I am ready to buy has either not gotten back to me, or has no 20"'s in stock.

Frustrating to say the least.
