First responders discount

End of the day, the cops and or military will be the ones kicking in your door to seize your personal belongings....All in nice shiny new discounted gear....Just doing their job.

All the 'good cops' will still show up and take away our perceived freedoms just as much as the 'bad cops' will. They like the money and benefits etc...Oh and the power trip.

I know many ex forces Veterans, pretty much all of them good solid folks. No problems with giving them a break, they have been shat on for too long by the likes of sock boi and Co.

Your tin foil hat fell off brah.

Fact: The Canadian association of Chiefs of police have publically rejected ANY action regarding seizure and have denounced this miscarriage of justice.

Fact: Alberta has announced that its appointing its own firearms advisory board msde up of Sport shooters, hunters and educated firearms professionals. They will act on their recommendations, not some dictator in ottawa. Saskatchewan is also following suit.

It sucks in Canada now if you love things like freedom and accountability but its not nearly as bad as you aremtrying to make it out to be. Stand up for your rights and the Ottawa cowards will withdraw.

I know i'm turning in nothing and I have a government job I might lose, no back-up plan but i'm now bowing to the dictator. To me it's about more than guns. If it was just guns though, they lied about that too so too bad.

Im in the same boat and as a 'G Man' I'm proud to say I've done more than my part to educate people about their rights (both God given and charter rights).

Lovin your 'facts'. And things are starting to go a little off topic. I was suggesting that regular pew pew buying folks should get the same break on new toys that the over paid and benefitted types, (cops) have been offered. Veterans I have no problem with, just the Turds bullyboys and Girls getting extra discounts where none are needed. Having said that, it's Wolverines choice on who they offer discounts to, and in their position I might be doing the same, pander to the only customer base that might well exist in a few years time. (bit like Sweden in WWII, sell to both sides and see who wins!).

Ask yourself, who needs a price break now, out of work or reduced hours peeps, or full time over paid cops?. It's not that difficult to figure out. I buy from Wolverine and will continue to do so, support the industry and keep new guns in production. I have also helped out with the various legal funds, in fact I feel kinda guilty buying toys when those groups that have started legal proceedings need money. I'm trying to balance business support and fund support.

For the record, I'm not a police officer nor have I ever been one. Given the low-life's and bull#### they have to put up with in our current society I don't think they're overpaid. There are exceptions, but I think the vast majority earn every cent. At least in the military there was a much clearer delineation of friendly/unfriendly and a clear ROE to match. Couldn't imagine going to work every day and seeing the worst your own society has to offer, just so a judge can put the #######s back out on the street.

Wolverine why would you increase the discount to first responders???
With everything going on I dont understand why companies throw themselves in the middle. So many people dislike cops and the RCMP right now it seems to be a bad choice right now.
I will put you on the list of companies I am boycotting and will not buy from like I did AI Tactical.
They tried it a week ago and reversed they decision because so many people contacted them with there disapproval.

What a total jack a$$, blocked

Perhaps a change of job then?. The pay and benefits are substantial though, tough to give all that up. They did choose to join, no one held a gun to their heads.

It certainly has . After reading through all the posts , it sounds like Wolverine has lost a lot of business over the promotion . Retail is a rough business to be in as customers can be driven away to their competition so easily . The free enterprise system at work I guess .

It seems quite likely they will increase their business, and end up with a better class of customer as well.

Some folks have a “special” kind of stupid. You can’t fix it with facts or logic, either. Guaranteed, with each one pissing and moaning about First Responder discounts, they have personally had a less than happy encounter with a Cop. Almost certainly, that encounter went south because of them copping their sh***y attitude to simple questions of directions. So, they shot their mouth off, got taken to task for it, and now every one of the tens of thousands of Cops in this country are ALL a******s because of one who wouldn’t take their ####.
There are a LOT of First Responders who aren’t Cops. Firefighters, EMS, heck, I’ve been involved in Search & Rescue for years, and even WE get First Responder discounts in many places. The attitude displayed by most or all of the special kind of stupid folks I mentioned need to count your Lucky Stars that NO First Responder shares your same attitude. If they did, you’d be well & truly screwed, the next time you needed help from one of them. House burning down? Sucks to be you...I don’t want to come put it out because you’re an entitled A*****e who expects my paycheque to come with a rider saying I have to put up with any B******t some “tax payer who pays my salary” wants to spew. Have a heart attack, need to go to the hospital? Call an Uber...I’m on my meal break. Your Grandmother with dementia wandered away from the seniors lodge, and you want me to go look for her? It IS 2:00AM, in January...in a snow storm. Don’t give ME any of your Bull crap about paying my salary; I VOLUNTEER. And pay for every goddamn thing I wear and use, plus lose a days pay because I was out all night looking for a stranger?
I have two words for you self important, entitled A**holes...I’m not gonna get banned for typing them out, regardless of how much I want to...you can figure it out

vern130 "...it's Wolverines choice on who they offer discounts to...".

Well said. The rest of your post not so much.

Thank you to Wolverine and other sponsors for supporting first responders and military. I think it is a well earned perk for all the crap they all deal with.

To everyone mad because they save a few bucks and you don’t qualify, take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself just what the hell you have ever sacrificed or done for anyone else in service of your city, province or country.

Thanks again!

It was your choice to "volunteer" or have you been forced into it? Well, let's assume not.

And now you're b!itching about expenses on your gear? You did obviously not think it through when you "volunteered".

I assume, none of the "volunteers", firefighters, police officer, medics,.... have been forced into their profession or did they?

But then, they feel the urge to spill out all the good they are doing with the common's man tax money who pays them to fulfill professional duty they've choosen to do?

Where is the love for the first responding appliance repair man, the plumber to fix YOUR #### leak or the carpenter/roofer who fixes up your roof you neglected to fix in time?

Some of you so called or self-pronounced "first responders" dudes feel so entitled it's actually disgusting and disrespectful to any other profession out there.

Btw. I don't give a #### if companies give a discount to their obviously preferred customers. I just don't buy from them.

Great move Wolverine! 90% of the firearms retailers in my area including the likes of cabelas and bass pro, offer the first responder discounts and have for years, people lined around the block at all of them to get in during the distancing stuff, hasn't hurt their business one bit.
Don't pay any attention to the butt hurt types that got a speeding ticket or DUI, they going to hate for the rest of their lives meh!

They did choose to join. They volunteer to put their own lives at risk to help maintain order in society and protect those in need. For that they are paid a salary, one that in my opinion is towards the lower limits of acceptable. An RCMP Constable, after five years of service, makes $86k/yr and a Corporal makes $95k/yr. Meanwhile, at Air Canada, a widebody FO makes $200k/yr+ for 80 flight hours per month; min education required, high-school.

It’s amazing anyone signs up to be a police officer at $85k/yr. Cost/benefit ratio is garbage. All the more reason to appreciate their service.

That is were the common's family tax money goes?!

Is there any extra fees on a twitter feed?

Plus investment cost/time of flight school. No one with a high school education is getting hired by AC, period just like you probably won't get an interview if you only have the other min req. Just like you won't get hired at 21, despite it being the min age for an atpl IIRC. Starting pay for RP or FO is 50k as it's non-weight based for 4 years. You will have been at AC for years before making 200k as an FO. Pension is no longer DB since 2012. Bunch of people just got furloughed or took a 50 percent pay cut.

Despite the "benefits", I still wouldn't be a cop though. Thanks for the discount wolverine.
