A 'friend' let my wife shoot his 1911 mounted with a Leupold red dot sight. Now she has to have one for her CZ Shadow.

Recommendations? And who's got 'em?

I've checked all the usual suspects on the forum.

I have a CZ Shadow 2 OR. Originally I had a Trijicon RMR but found that finding the dot on the draw (IPSC) was somewhat difficult even with practice so now I put on a Trijicon SRO and do not have any issues at all. The RMR was 6MOA. My SRO is 2.5MOA.

just a question, why do you find the sro easier to find the dot. because the lens is larger? i have a burris fastfire on mine , i find it tricky to acquire also.

I just got a Sig Romeo 1 with a matching Sig mount on my Shadow1. As previous posts suggests, finding the dot is not as easy as an open sight. I had it dialed @ 20m, so far I am happy. My 1st shot was 2" from the dead center of the target. Succeeding shots, is within 5" group considering my hands are tired due to an ongoing home reno. Bench rested, easy 2" grouping. My only concern is the rather short mounting screws supplied. 6-48 X 5/16, with only few thread turns going inside the mount. I used Loctite Blue Thread Locker to keep the screws in place. Unfortunately, I only had 50 rds into it. So far, so good. I am still trying to find a local source of the 6/48 X 3/8 screws. I can get it from south of the border, but shipping cost is ridiculous. There is a local source, but you have to buy the whole box of assortments to which you only need 2-pcs.

I found that as a result of the "bend" in the frame (on the top where the glass is) of the RMR (for resistance to damage if dropped), that it was harder to find the red dot. I would be dipping it up or down trying to locate it sometimes - even after much practice. The SRO is just a circle of glass and the dot is right there every time. I hope that makes sense.
