Jumping through hoops to get some parts from the US

So I'm new to firearms ownership, but I had no idea it was such a hassle to get parts in from the US.

Trying to get a Magwell and some mag plates, even though it falls under $500 exemption, the retailer said they have to do a lot of paperwork on their end, as well as verify my ID against a prohibited list.

Was it always like this or is it something newer?

There are plenty of dealers that carry those parts and can deliver them within a week. Support your local dealer.

Importation is always a monster. There are a couple of supporting dealers who can handle big stuff for you.

But yes...it has always been a mess.

I wish I was able to find local, I'd definitely have preferred to go that route. It's the Walther PPQ Match polymer...for some reason not many places even make the wells.

welcome to Canadian gun world, the export licence in the US is a ##### and expensive , and with this cova thing going on even the ones that do export don't have the man power for the amount of paper work involved.

Sigh...I wanna feel bad, but I feel like it might get worse so I'm thankful I started now than later.

Btw, anyone here do CNC/Laser work on slides and paint? Just curious, seeing such awesome work from the states, wondering if anyone here does them.
