It felt weird not owning a 260 Remington so I cured that with a Tikka T3x Lite SS in a McMillan Edge Game Scout. Topped it off with a Swarovski Z5 2.4-12x50 BT in Talley rings.

I have about 125 rounds through it now. Haven't cleaned it yet

147gr Hornady ELDm are shooting well over a number of powders. I still have to test StaBALL and Win760. Lapua brass and F210M, seated .050" off the lands @ 2.95" OAL . A few more range trips and I will focus on one load and stretch the distance out a bit

Pretty cool rig tod. What kinda speeds are you seeing with that heavy bullet?
For kicks, how does it compare to your creedmoor speeds?

H4350 was 2646 fps, Ramshot Hunter 2656 fps, RL16 2674 fps, RL26 2786 fps (22.4" barrel)

I shoot 147's @ 2700 fps from my Creed with RL26, 20" barrel

That’s pretty good speed considering. It’s nice when you get a factory rifle that can run alongside a custom barrel job.

The McMillan is a bit heavier than the plastic Tikka stock. Although it has a forend rail, flush cups, molded in paint. I think the rifle with scope is around 7.25lbs

I have a superlite Cerastrat I was thinking of doing the same with. I even if it's a few more ounces I'm sure the extra rigidity makes it worth it.

Yeah I really like the Game Scout and Game Warden stocks by McMillan. Some of the vertical grip Manners and AG stocks look great too

Big fan of the .260 Rem, I have three at the moment. I bought a Tikka T3X last year but decided to go with the 6.5x55 since it was going to be a long action anyway. Had to send it back to Stoeger due to accuracy issues. They said they cleaned it, checked headspace and shoots 5 (not 3) under one moa with Nosler Trophy Grade. They couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I had tried three different scopes on it before sending it back. Haven’t had a chance to shoot her since I got it back but I hope it shoots like yours now.

Great looking rifle and it shoots!
How do you like the Swarovski Z5 2.4-12x50 BT? I am considering that or the Z3 4-12x50 BT for a 280AI.

RL16 is the powder I have decided to focus on, it is working good

42.4grs is around 2680 fps, 43.3grs is 2730 - both seem to shoot about as well

just to follow up, StaBALL did 2702 fps and Win760 2608 fps

Second range trip tweaks with the initial powders :

H4350 2682 fps
Ramshot Hunter 2755 fps
RL26 2840 fps
