Started to have issues with firing issues with my Stoeger M3500 last fall and happened twice today shooting clays. Here’s the problem: on the first round, press on trigger and goes «#click#» but no firing, I inspect the round and no signs of firing pin strike. From what I remember, last fall, happened on the first shot as well (can’t remember if it happened during battery...).

I put the round in the receiver and press on the bolt release and seems to be closing very well. I haven’t disassembled the bolt yet.

Anyone as experienced this? What’s the fix?

Cheers!

I believe that’s one of the parts, along with the extractor, that’s recommended to replace with the benelli part in order to improve reliability.

Might be worth while to do the upgrade.

Holly crap!
I have an M3500 (with at least 3,000 target loads & about 300 magnum loads) as well.
I am quite familiar with them and I know for fact that these inertia springs are pretty heavy.

I called Stoeger Canada before and their service is great.... if I had to guess, they will probably send you another spring free of charge.

Thanks guys for all the replies. So recoil spring would interfere with the firing pin motion? I researched the web and everything that was mentioned to checked was tip top.

The salesman (who is also an old friend of mine) at Cabela's who sold me my M3500 told me that because Benelli owns Stoeger, the action that is in the M3500 is exactly what you find in a Benelli (Superblack Eagle 2)... I could be wrong, but I would think that they would be the exact same spring.

No doubt in my mind that this is cause of your problem. The broken piece of inertia spring that was floating around inside of the bolt was preventing your firing pin going forward.... I would thoroughly inspect your firing pin, the firing pin spring and in the inside of your bolt for other signs of damage.

These springs are very heavy duty, and should probably last the life of the gun. In probably a 1-in-a-1,000 defective part.
Stoeger Canada should probably take of you.

When I bought mine from Cabela's, they did not include the pic rail that was supposed to come with it, after calling them I received a rail in the mail within a week and the didn't even ask to see my receipt or ask for serial number of my gun.

Same design but made in Turkey. Definitely not from the same factory. For the price you cannot compete with a 2400 shotgun but it xomes cloae.
