Bought a stainless Ruger P345. Just waiting on the ATT! Most of the reviews I have read on this one have been great. Guns and Ammo also gave it the 2004 gun of the year award. After much research I couldn't find a better 45 for the money or even for a couple of hundred more. :p

Feel like a little kid, can't wait to take it to the gun club!

congrats! that's a nice lookin' little pistol. Too bad they don't have one in 9mm, as I've already got a .45

It's a perfect gun. Light, small and cheap (in $ terms, not quality). I'm at least 7-800 rounds into mine and not a single problem.

Did you get the stainless or black coating version, whatever the hell the call it.

Dont be dismayed by the hard DA trigger pull initially. It will smooth out with use and you can work it in even faster by holding the hammer back(on an empty gun!) just far enough so it locks and release the trigger just enough to release the hammer but dont let it fall, just enough to lock/release. Do that repeatedly and you will be amazed at how fast it starts to work in. And like it says in the manual, never dry fire it without a mag in it or you will damage the gun! Be careful if u are removing the rear sight. Sometimes you or even the factory can over torque the set screw and it will almost lift the sight out of the dovetail resulting in high POI on your target..
Its a great litle gun!

I hate to say this, but any 45 will cause you to become addicted. Before long you'll regard anything less than 45 as 'not real', then before you know it you'll be at the range looking twice at any piece of discarded brass that looks bigger than the others. Oh yeah, you'll also become an opinionated SOB. Welcome to the club :D

Couldn't have said it better myself.... But yeah, after all it is the .45ACP club!

Chris I see you bought the ruger... now we can square off... the Colt 1911 Goverment/Mossberg 590 mariner V.S. the Ruger P345/ Reminton Police Mag. good times.

I see you went with the two tone (joking) It's a good looking gun buddy... see you at the range.

Rick

You bet I'll be posting pics! It's paid for and sitting at the gun store right now until the ATT comes threw. :-(

Best take a seat and pour a cool one. You'll be waiting a while 'cuz you're in Ontario...

Geez, that's just not nice... :p

[In B.C. restricted transfers are going thru in 1 or 2 days at present... ]

Not for me.

I traded a handgun with a guy from Alberta, two days after I started the transfer I called in to the CFO, and the nice lady sent me over to the 'transfer desk' :runaway:. 30 minutes later she gave me a ATT# so I can drive to the post office for the next 24 hours from 9-6. She put my restricted transfer through and checked on a non-restricted transfer that went to Ottawa. :runaway:x2

Its not that bad in Ontario. Buy something else so you'll have your new P345 to play with while you wait!

LMAO!

Hey Rick. You actually almost convinced me to buy the blued version but when when I had them both in my hand I fell in love with the stainless. Too bad I had to miss the IDPA yesterday. I heard you were there. See you on Sunday!

Chris

re the holster, I suggest u call Ruger and register once u have the serial number(new guns only). This will give u a 20% off their merchandise in the store(up to a value of $100). Pretty good deal for a custom Galco holster!
