Supposedly they make rifle barrel inserts to order for break open shotguns.

Handy, but you woukd just be wasting ammo... there is nothing fun about an inaccurate rifle.

I have seen a .22H double rifle made up by a member of this forum based on a small shotgun action. Really well done. This member has made double rifles in a variety of calibers. Impressive workmanship.
I can't imagine anything more useless than a SxS rifle in 22 Hornet and expensive to boot.
What would one do with it?

You’ve obviously never been charged by a groundhog....

Or even a chipmunk jacked up on crystal meth....
I hadn't envisioned a "Varmint Defense" thread when I posted that. Funny, that's one subject that hasn't been broached here on CGN.
For the sake of that argument, I propose the the flanged 220 Swift or 225Winchester would be better choices for a double rifle with "Varmint Defense" in mind.![]()
...was wondering what my options were for a double rifle chambered in .22 Hornet. It seems like a good option for a double rifle: ammo isn't too expensive or hard to find, but it's also not the first thing to go in the event of a panic buy.
Interesting logic, but short on true dollars and cents.

Agree it's also a great calibre for tge ATV in off season. I have TC Encore with a custom peep sighted MGM barrel from Nine35 in 22 Hornet. Great fun.
