Options for a .22 Hornet double rifle

I have seen a .22H double rifle made up by a member of this forum based on a small shotgun action. Really well done. This member has made double rifles in a variety of calibers. Impressive workmanship.

You’ve obviously never been charged by a groundhog....

Or even a chipmunk jacked up on crystal meth....

I hadn't envisioned a "Varmint Defense" thread when I posted that. Funny, that's one subject that hasn't been broached here on CGN.

For the sake of that argument, I propose the the flanged 220 Swift or 225Winchester would be better choices for a double rifle with "Varmint Defense" in mind. :)

Yeah, I own all three and the Swift definitely has a "SPLATTER " edge over the other two... although the .225 is no slouch. My M77 MKII Swift gets out more often than any other.

...was wondering what my options were for a double rifle chambered in .22 Hornet. It seems like a good option for a double rifle: ammo isn't too expensive or hard to find, but it's also not the first thing to go in the event of a panic buy.
Interesting logic, but short on true dollars and cents.

Agree it's also a great calibre for tge ATV in off season. I have TC Encore with a custom peep sighted MGM barrel from Nine35 in 22 Hornet. Great fun.

You won't be strapping your $15,000 .22 Hornet double to your quad... at least, most wouldn't.

Ive wanted a double in 25/20 or 25/35 for years. Maybe once the house is paid off. Ill just shift the payment to a gun slush fund. Calling coyotes and dropping them with a fine lil double would be a good time
Theres a few 22lr doubles out there and they were about 40 grand if i remember right
