Planked Double Crested Cormorant

  • Clean and pluck bird
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Place bird on pre-soaked cedar plank
  • Heat outdoor grill to 350F
  • Place plank with bird on grill
  • Cook covered (do NOT open lid to peak)
  • After 55 minutes remove bird and plank.
  • Throw the bird away. Eat the plank

Motor doesn't have to up either. Just needs to be off and you are correct, the forward motion stopped.

Also, since a reasonable effort must be made to retrieve a downed bird, it would be reasonable to use the motor for retrieval.....even if a kill shot needs to be taken
