What kind of ammo are used by LEO???

I believe Calgary police use slug only. Thanks to some lame court case some years ago where an officer responded to a domestic if I recall. Upon arrival the women he encountered began shooting at him with a rifle. The officer fired one round of 00 buck and managed two kills. The mother, and her young son who was loading the rifle for her. Not that it validates the childs death, just proves he was well within lethal range for a shot directed at his mother.

From what I've been told by local LE the officer had no idea the child was there. Naturally some moron saw it fit to turn this incident into a crisis of some sort. Which eventually led to the use of slug only.

A slug would pass through a human body like it wasn't even there. Excellent logic on that one....

That was not Calgary Police. It was an R.C.M.P. officer responding to call outside the City.

Some moron did not turn anything into anything! There was an investigation which always follows when the Police resort to lethal force. Since your "local LE" misinformed you of the Police Force that was actually involved, you might also be mistaken about the conclusion.
 
The incident in question i believe took place on the tsu'tina reserve and I think I'm correct in saying the member did nothing wrong.
 
RCMP or not, the statement still stands. A lethal force encounter was whipped into a frenzy and smeared in the direction of "baby killers" on the part of the responding officer. As P89 and anyone else with some basic logic can conclude, the officer did nothing wrong. The death of the child was an unfortunate outcome of the situation.

Correct location! and that was the conclusion of the inquiry reguarding the individual R.C.M.P. officer.

No need to discuss the details as the incident was covered in detail at the time of the incident and later at the time of the inquiry, and is now ancient history.

Slugs? or OO Buck? Why not ask a relaible source. It is obvious that some on this forum know the answer, but there are those who just speculate and gossip :sucks:

Seeing as how many shooters and officers alike are not overly fond of the recoil involved with the use of slugs and their ability to over penetrate, I see more lethal force nightmares on the horizon. Come to think of it, CPS engaged an armed individual last winter after he proceeded to hack up his wife. The man was shot once with the shotgun at very close range. Fortunately for the public and the legal system said dirtbag didn't make it. That didn't stop a bunch of bleeding heart citizens from crying "excessive force" "they should have shot him in the leg." :rolleyes:
