I know of Dlask ( approx $200) and IBI (over $400) that have 10/22 barrel avail, are there different suppliers avail in Canada for different options.

Thanks

Well, there’s a Canadian company called Greybirch Solutions. They make the worlds best barrels according to themselves. Just how they know this is a closely guarded secret that the rest of the world is unaware of. Don’t know what the costs are and reports of testing were suppose to be available in a couple weeks back in April, but maybe that’s a secret also.

Sylvester (?) have the Volquartsen barrels, Dlask have Kidd and there is a place out west that has Green Mountain or did,not very well advertised

I picked up a grey birch 16” barrel and one of there LDR receivers last month. Quality is really good. I haven’t own anything Dlask or IBI so can’t compare to those. I was using stock Ruger forever and wanted to see if aftermarket stuff was that much better.

I’m no marksman but getting sub 1” groups at 50yds. My enjoyment using my 10/22 has increased 100% since throwing on the new barrel and receiver. I also have a ruger bx trigger upgrade and its in a hogue stock — nothing that special but a lot nicer than the stock ruger stuff.

Worth checking out if you’re in the market.

I can’t see anywhere on their website where it says they have the best barrels — all I know is my own experience in the last month — I’m really happy with the purchase.

Dlask house barrels are Green Mountain blanks, so take that with a grain of salt.
Dlask and Green Mountain barrels are also very heavy, so depending on the build type your doing that may effect what you want to purchase.
Dlask does or has been making some fluted and lighter barrels as well.
Dlask also comes in various lengths (6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20) ((some lengths they dont do on a regular basis and you may have to wait until they restock or custom order a length, usually the extremes you will have to wait, so 6 and 18, 20))

all i have experience with is Green Mountain x1 (good barrel)
and Dlask x4 (all have been excellent)
and a TacSol (super light and excellent shooter)

if i where just getting into the 10/22 modification game id pick up a Dlask and play around with it before sinking double or triple that money into others.
worst case you could upgrade it later and resell or keep for another build.

We've sold about 25 or so of the Grey Birch barrels so far so I am sure someone on here should have a review of them. They look nice and the carbon fiber looks even and not blemished. As a retailer I usually hear back from people when there are major issues with something and I haven't had anyone email me. MD Charlton is the distributor for Greybirch.

I don't know anything about "world's best" because the only "fancy" 10/22 barrel I've ever owned is my Grey Birch 16".

With my limited ability I've managed 1 hole groups at 25m, sub 1/2" at 50m, and just over an inch at 100m, all with CCI Standard. It's easy to hit the 6" gong at 200m and I was hitting the 12" at 300m the other day regularly. I'm not particularly impressed with the Volquartsen trigger kit I put in it so that may be a limiting factor as well, especially at the longer distances.

I'm happy with it, but like I said, I have nothing else to compare it to. YMMV.

GBS has also stepped up with 1 each of their receivers and barrels as prizes for the team 3 gun match I MD in October. Can't complain about that sort of support for the shooting community.

Well maybe ur so new you didn’t see the original ad but that’s what they stated. Find it funny your second post, first being introduction, and your endorsing a company real close to your posted living area. Maybe just coincidence but I’m thinking not. Of course the seller of their products are going to give them glowing reviews just like the people that received free product to tout how great they are. They’re shady too be polite that’s why all the hidden business registration. Never Ever Again

I guess you have it all figured out longstud. As you’ve clearly stated my 2 posts and April join date give me no credibility — so it’s impossible that I simply bought a new barrel and receiver for my old 10/22 sitting in my closet collecting dust to revive a hobby I once enjoyed.

To the original poster fljp2002 — I’m happy to share a photo of my build and any other info if you’re interested. I had a cheapy bushnell on it but it couldn’t track for the life of me — so currently in the market for a scope capable of 1-2” groups at
100yds.

Haven’t tried to hit steel from the 200+yd mark yet but will do so as soon as I pickup some decent glass.

Anyways — shooting is supposed to be fun aside from the conspiracy theory tinfoil wearing studs out there.

Happy barrel hunting fljp.

I own or have owned barrels from Volquartsen (THM carbon fiber), Green Mountain, ER Shaw, Tactical Solutions, and Walther, that I can remember. I have the 16” Grey Birch barrel and CLR receiver. The barrel is as good as any that I’ve used before and the receiver was easy to do the build with. Everything fit the way it was supposed to and went together easily. SK Standard Plus and ELEY Match was good for a little under half an inch at 50. I was pretty limited today because of work, but when I have more time I’ll try a few different types of ammo that I have on hand.

I only stated it was suspect or coincidental! Just a little FYI, ur scope will not determine the group size but rather your shooting form and the accuracy limitations of your rifle and ammo. I’m happy to hear you’ve revived your shooting and hope you have lots of great luck with ur new build. If your gonna dial for shots I’d suggest a FFP scope, just my opinion. Cheers Chris

What stock is that, WP?

I got a IBI on my 10/22 which was showing a ton or promise, but then I moved onto my main rifle which kind of let me down again. 10/22 is back on the block next week and we will see how it does!

I bought a McGowan barrel off a CGNer with a Bentz chamber, looking for something lighter for SpeedSteel but would get FTE as it heated up and fouled.
Accuracy did not improve over the factory barrel which had no FTE but I only tested with an assortment of available ammo and that included CenterX, Federal Match 922A and Eley Match.
So there is sits if anyone is interested . . . rather a high priced stake at the moment.

I think I can do better, pretty sure the shot on the right was me. Didn't have the most stable platform, the scope wasn't adjusted for eye relief, and I have more ammo to try. But, I'm really, really happy with this gun. The Grey Birch barrel and receiver are terrific.
