ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

As Barrie joined Phase 3 of relaxing pandemic-excused draconian measures in Ontario, the speed of transfer approvals increased noticeably ...

Was I supposed to get paperwork with my AR lower? I got the receipt from the store, but nothing from the RCMP, it's been over a month. this was after approval and delivery.

Touchy topic because of some list that was arbitrarily created on May 1st.

Generally certificates come 2-4 weeks after transfer completion (maybe as much as 6 weeks in this crazy period)

Hypothetically, if your purchase was on the list but hit a weird window and was transferred, I speculate you may never see certificate.

Hope you see your paperwork soon. I am intentionally not asking for specifics on your firearms.

I just print off the emailed certificate.

I was considering that. After some research (many threads about it), decided against. Apparently you're asking for trouble if you're stopped and checked, and you can't produce the real certificate (or a copy of it). That printout is just a notification allowing you to take it from the post office or seller to your home.

One cannot print something what doesn't exist … there's no "emailed certificates" …

certificates are printed by CFC (not by CFO) usually next week after CFC receives notification of the transfer being approved …

sent by Canada Post and easily identifiable by the green outer insert visible in brown envelope's window ...

Online order (ON business to ON buyer) submitted May 25 evening,
transfer initiated May 26,
TN issued to the Seller July 28,
Seller called after business hours already,
the order picked up on July 29,
certificate issued July 28, printed August 4,
certificate arrived from Miramichi by Canada Post August 7.

So, the whole process from the ordering to being able to go to a range and use it, May 25 - August 7, i.e. ~ 11 weeks

I got a reply from the CFO saying registration certificates cannot be emailed - they must be mailed out. Just a heads up then to everyone, wait for your registration in the mail before you go out with your new toy.

Just a quick update, a very friendly employee told me that the CFO ON has hired more personnel to speed up the transfer process. Let's hope it won't take 11 weeks :)

Thanks for the info. Just for this weekend I will take it as gospel. On Monday I will go back to believing it was all a dream. Fingers crossed.
