Hi

I'm not sure in what section put this post so i'm lefting it here.

I was wondering if someone have or know where to got the original old school CLP/BREAKFREE.

You know the smelly one with "teflon" flakes on the bottom of the can, like the stuff used in CF with the arrival or C7. witch I use 1990-1993

Not looking for huge quantity but some usable bottle

Make your offers

Larry

I heard some time ago that the old CLP was a hazard to health which is why it was discontinued.

The stuff reeked.
You could smell it a mile away.
It did cause reactions to the skin for a number of people.
I was one.

To use it effectively you were supposed to let it soak on the metal for six hours in order to be of any effect.
Something the army practice never reall allowed time for.

It was not very effective for removing or lifting carbon and it was never left on long enough to do any good for the metal. Seriously, find anything better.

Still looking for a least a small quantity of the ORIGINAL break free CLP

I haven’t seen the old stuff in new containers for years. The new breakfree CLP works just as good if not better and has that greenish hue to it.

I’ll look in my locker on thursday, I think I still have a 4oz squeeze bottle of the old stuff.

Someone should have told that to the young privates who used it to clean the pots & pans in the winter toboggan kits!

Another group was topping up their CLP bottles with water for inspection, then complaining that CLP was not a good preservative because their rifle bolts kept getting rusty.
