I am definately proud of him, i've been fortunate to get a few nice deer over the years and i can remeber them all like the hunt was yesterday. This is my second biggest and it has the most character, thanks to everyone for all the congrats

no, the head and teeth are already at the taxidermist...so im just going to have to ask him. I'll be talking to him in the next day or so. Then i'll post up his response
thanks, and I got him up by Oliver Lake, first one i've ever got up there. There is definately a healthy deer population up there, but the terrain is a bit tough to hunt. A rifle isn't much of an advantage over a shotgun because the ranges are so close. I got all bloody trying to get him up on the quad, i probably should have just dragged it but the terrain is pretty tough and I didn't want to damage the hide. I also figured that once I had him on the quad i could just drive it into the box of the truck and close the tailgate, but that didn't quite go as planned.
well i just got off the phone with Dan the Taxidermist and he figures it is either 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 and he is leaning towards the latter. So thanks to everyone for the estimates, everyone seemed to be right in the same ballpark.

Very nice deer - all my buddies drive out to the Fort and I stop 5 hours before they do - lots of nice sized deer between Nipigon and Thunder Bay.
