Considering one of these. Anyone here have one? Very interested in hearing your experience with it? It would be equiped with a Harris BR-S and shot mainly off of a portable table (Gopher shooting).

I looked all over Canada for one - could not find. Ended up purchasing a 457 Pro Varmint which I just received and have yet to take out - hopefully in the next couple days as just on days off now :)
I ordered a Walther Mach2 barrel for it as well so looking forward to seeing how both barrels function accuracy wise.

Thank you, but I am starting to think that for my intended use maybe a well tuned 452 or 455 with a real nice trigger ( a "must have") may be the way to go. Cheaper too no doubt.

I bought the 457 varmint in 17 HMR a couple weeks ago. The wood is stunning and the gun shoots. I also have a 455 Varmint in 22 so I just may swap the barrels at some time. But for sure looks the varmint is a winner. Another option is to simply buy the synthetic version of the 457. It comes with a light weight barrel but the stock is hogged out to accommodate a heavy barrel which you can get at some later point. The gun is quite cheap by 457 standards.I believe I paid just over $500 for that gun and another $200 for a heavy barrel in 17 HMR.Finding heavy barrels in 22 seems to be a bit harder
What I really really want is heavy barrel in mach2 but I suspect that they are truly unubtamium

I have/shoot 527s and find their triggers very nice when properly adjusted with zero creep, this is critical to me. So can anyone with actual experience tell me if the 452,
453 & 455 triggers are the same triggers as in the 527s and/or they comparable?

I have a 452 varmint, i find it a little heavy for carrying around the pasture. Would like to pick up a 457 bit they are getting priced pretty high for my liking.

Looks like these are "unobtanium". Might have to settle for a 455 or a 452.

I just checked my local gun shop Williams Arms in Port Perry, Ontario and they have that model in stock. http://williamsarms.net/newfirearms.html

The more i read about this gun, the more I want to buy one. Thanks to all of you for assisting me with my credit card balance.

Looking forward to a review if you see fit?

I took my Pro Varmint out today........short story, I much prefer my Tikka. The only thing that edged out the Tikka was the stock. The trigger, action and accuracy goes the way of the Tikka. Some would argue that the magazine is a problem on the Tikka - I have no issues with them. The only regret I have is that the Walther Mach2 barrel I ordered should of been for the Tikka :-(

Which model Tikka are we talking about please?

Sorry about that.....Tikka T1X MTR in 22LR. I also have in 17HMR.
My 22LR does have an aftermarket Bell and Carlson stock which is a nice upgrade to the original but the stock on the CZ Pro Varmint is better for a rear bag.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm looking at a Tikka T1X or 457 MTR. I've shot the Tikka (not yet a CZ) but seems most folks prefer the Tikka over the CZ.

Looks like I may have to seriously consider a Tikka T1X also? I do have a couple of Tikka T3Vs and am extremley pleased with both of them.

How does the Pro Varmint do with CCI SV at 50yds?
