The Lee Precision Classic Cast Press is available with and without Breech Lock, any benefits with the one with Breech Lock vs the one without?

The version without the Breach Lock feature uses a different system to collect spent primers and one I'd say is superior. Further this press will also except large series 1 1/4 dies witch the other will not. I suggest you get the standard press and add a Hornady LNL bushing kit, best of both worlds.

I have the Lee Breechlock Challenger press, and love the breechlock inserts. I have them on all my dies. Once you set up a die, there is no need to set it up again, just 1/6 turn to remove, and install.
You can also leave a breechlock insert in the press, and it is just like a normal press.

Primer disposal works just fine, too

What are 1 1/4 dies used for?

Locking die rings are cheaper then bushing locks, complete waste of time and money IMHO, so you can change a die in 2 seconds vs 7 seconds, who cares lol. You also add in another level of play between the die and ram with a bushing lock, really never made sense to me.

If you really need to change dies quick, just get the Classic Turret.
I got 1 because I set up the dies once and just swap out turret's to change calibers.
I then picked up an Orange Crusher press for the Large LEE dies for 577 and 577-450
