Hi there everyone, I’m thinking of selling my Winchester model 70 classic featherweight in 280 rem with the original box in excellent (not mint as everybody likes to say). I’ve looked and haven’t been able to find a Comparable one online and I know the 280’s weren’t that common and would like to know a rough value.
Let me know your thoughts on price.

Lol does the 280 rem caliber not add a little more seen lots of classic featherweights in ordinary calibers here and south of the border go for around the 1K mark?

'twas a lame attempt at shock humour.
Surf the EE and see what there is in comparable guns.
I might look it up in the BB of Gun Values later tonight or on coffee break if I am so inclined and post back those findings.
Dollars are tight for some during this covid times while others are spending on bigger ticket items.

Can get a new one in .280 for $1250. If in excellent condition start at 75-80% of a new one, which is approximately $950. As noted above, very unstable market at the moment. I’ve noticed that even dealers are becoming more flexible, so $950 may be a high ask right now.
 
I don't know why 280rem is not more popular... for NA, it's capable on every big game animal. Sometimes the less popular chamberings add more to rifle value, however on the flip side less popular means less ammunition availability.

Good shape standard featherweight m70s seem to be priced around $800.00 on here and at stores. I'm quite fond of them and if I were looking for what you are selling, wouldn't be nickle-diming you. Condition is the primary factor... You will be hard pressed finding a buyer to pay mint price for non mint condition. SFRC has a '74 m70 in 30-06sprg... blind box magazine, iron sights, 2pc Weaver bases, and finish wear on the stock listed condition "NRA good" priced at 900: It's been there for a very long time though.
