Again, LRIP short stroke piston operated rifles. Hopefully we can export some to Canada by Feb. Hopefully unrestricted.

These are the military version, the export/target/civvie versions will vary and have different nomenclature.

Best of luck getting it to us. I need a deer rifle. But I will be amazed if its non-restricted. I take it you know how to market it to make it non-rest.

Getting the export cert alone will be a #####. But who is the dealer? Only TSE and Wolverine know how to get the RCMP to understand whether or not something is a variant of something else.

Wow, thats a nice piece of kit. I really dig the machining, very clean lines.

I would easily take this over any 308 AR that Hk has to offer not only because you actually bother to keep us Canadians informed, but its also nicer in every aspect compared to HK's upcoming MR308

Nice job, me likes!

It is not an AR10. Nothing else fits on it. Completely different operating system. Yes, I have help up there, but I will leave it to the involved party to out himself if he so sees fit.

Very nice photography!
If the gun is done as well, you have a winner on your hands.

I hope it does come in Non-Rest.

I like the charging handle on the left rather than the regular AR one. Also the CTR stock is definately a favourite of mine. Although I prefer that stock on a shorter barreled .223 rather than a .308.
That being said, I think I'll be keeping my DPMS .308.

When I see a .308 rifle with rails like that, well no thanks. For a .223 combat style rifle sure. However these .308 rifles are heavy. You can shoot position shooting, but... you're more likely to be using a bipod or resting it on anything you can find. These things get heavy fast. I can't see using those rails for anything. You start mounting more crap on them other than the scope and you can expect the weight/balance to get bad really quickly.

It's a nice toy don't get me wrong. I just don't see much in it over the current .308 rifles offered.

I'm guessing the target (no pun intended) audience has plenty of stuff to go on those rails NV, designator, white light, thermal etc. If we get them it'll be a spin-off bonus to us.

...well 75%+ of us can and do see uses for the rails, and it adds very very little to the weight for the added versatility. A rifle like is is likely going to sport a free float handguard anyhow, might as well have the rails too bud.

Don't see much in it over the current .308 rifles? How many piston-driven .308 black rifles are there on the Canadian market? And how many .308 black-rifles (whether piston or DI) are non-restricted? If this rifle proves reliable and is classified as non-restricted, I'd take it over DPSM or any other AR-10 in an instant. Even if you don't care about the piston, the non-restricted aspect is a huge deal.
