Been occupying the 3-Gun void with a new hunting rifle in 6.5 PRC for a few weeks using 143gr ELD-X bullets and some of my go to magnum powders, I picked up a box of Berger 156 extreme outer limits bullets but can't seem to find any load data for them. Anyone out there loading these for this cartridge yet that could share some knowledge? Bonus points if you have data using Retumbo or RL 26.

I have a couple boxes but haven't loaded any yet in my PRC. I have a good load with the 150gr Sierra Matchking, I use RL33 for 3000 fps 24" brl

I use RL26 with up to 143gr but load density will start to suffer with the heavier for caliber bullet weights. I like to keep the case 90% + full

Thanks for the replies guys, that points me in the right direction. I’m having so much fun with this cartridge I might wear the barrel out before hunting season.

I’m interested in this as well for getting some heavy Bergers out of my 6.5 prc build. Found a few lbs of alliant 26 to test out some of the reloading data out there on the inter web. But will be interesting to see how it really does pushing a 156 around 3000fps at some distance like the internet is claiming.

To get this reloading data, please call our tech team at 660-460-2802. Unpublished data is readily available for the following:

6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser
6.5 X 47 Lapua
.260 Remington
6.5 Creedmoor
6.5-284 Norma
6.5-06 A-Square
.264 Winchester Magnum
6.5 PRC
26 Nosler
6.5-.300 Weatherby Magnum

Mine maxed at 57gr R26, best accuracy 56.5
Another gooder is VV565. Best accuracy 56.2
Both 156 Bergers, CArms RL, 24". Both loads hovering around 2900-3000 (565 2910, R26 gets the velocity at 2990 - BOTH CALCULATED VIA TRAJECTORY)

Moose load is 156 Norma Oryx 56 R26 @ 2890 - crazy accurate for a big ugly non-efficient bullet!
3+ MOA diff at 500yds between 156 Berger and Oryx

I haven't had much time to do a thorough load work up but tried three loads to get a baseline with 56.5 of RL 26 being the most accurate without doing any chrono. Today while waiting for the rest of the crew to set up for IPSC provincials I put 2 groups past the Lab Radar, one using CCI BR-4 primers and the same charge with Federal match magnum primers. Both groups m.o.a. The CCI's had an average of 2930 with an extreme spread of 21, certainly room for improvement. The magnum match primers had an average of 2968fps with an extreme spread of 9 in a 24" 1-8 proof barrel.

What is the twist rate of your barrel? I am looking to shoot the 150's in my PRC, but I only have an 8 twist and I am unsure if it will stabilize.

1:8, I shoot at 2200' elevation

Ive started shooting the 156gr EOL, with Retumbo. Promising start, 2900 fps and sub MOA @ 300m. I have some more loaded up with a bit less powder, should be in the 2860 fps range
