Need to replace the pad on my #1 416 rigby. All I have ever used were pachmayr decelerator pads on my rifles,how do the kick eez compare for felt recoil and taming it? I know recoil is subjective but want opinions before I order!! Short term....which do you prefer.
Better recoil pad? Pachmayr or kick eez?

I have all three pads mentioned on several rifles, and find Kick eez and Limbsaver do reduce the 'bite" of shoulder felt recoil a bit more than Pachmayr. The Pachmayr don't compress as much so muzzle rise and cheek slap are a tiny bit less than the others. On a dangerous game rifle I like that the Pachmayr are a touch smoother and don't hang up on your shirt quite so much when shooting quickly. Very small differences, but i'd suggest Pachmayr decelerator for your .416.

When I bought this rifle quite a few years ago from the EE it had a different recoil pad on it. It has/had ribs on the side and was quite soft.In the bottom of my safe I have foam on the floor part and the damn pad melted right into the foam and created on helluva mess. I tried cardboard on the floor area,a plastic envelope and all sorts of stuff and it melted into everything and everything stuck to it and glued right into it. I even tried a piece of glass and the pad stuck so bad you would spend 10 minutes trying to peel it all apart.
Screw it..ordered a pachmayr decelerator this morning for it.

I have some Decelerators and some Lymbsavers (prefit and grind to fit). Beside a factory Remington Lymbsaver which turned gummy and was replaced by Remington (a known bad batch that Remington replaced) all my Lymbsavers have been fine. The Decelerators look better but the Lymbsavers are softer and work better.

I have found they still deteriorate even the new ones and I do see a lot of them.Warranty or not still prefer the decelerator.Don't have to replace it,difference in durometer number on the rubber on the pads is small. You will not feel the difference only emagined.
