45-70 no ignition

I’ve done oil and water tests in the past. Killed them deader than helll. The shotgun primers I tried were waterproof though.

I’ve sort of got to where I don’t believe anything I can’t prove anymore.

What is the purpose of adding the tin?

Cast Bullet Alloys & Alloy Maintenance
http://www.lasc.us/CastBulletAlloy.htm

When I made cast bullets I used wheel weights and bars of 50/50 solder. The wheel weights contained lead and antimony and by adding tin from 50-50 solder it made this mixture harder. The tin actually helped bond the lead and antimony together and made a more homogenous mixture.

Back to the powder choice. Would Dominion D4198 be corpariable to thw other 4198 powders? Good for my.use? 45-70 350gr with no gas check and 500 gr with gas checks (i got a new mould

I have never used h335 in my 45-70. However I have heard that h335 should not be reduced it can cause problems. As I understood, too much air space in the cartridge.
I was told by
An experienced shooter in Matthew Quigley Competitions to do it safely-
Use a waD over the reduced charge (44 or 48gr) is used, then a filler like cream of wheat, and another wad on top of c of wheat, leaving just enough room for the bullet to seat with minimal compression.
I used the H4198, IMR4198, and D4198 . 2.8cc , low recoil, lots of fun to shoot.

Ill put the h335 away and switch the d4198. Just got 5 pounds of it, my lead is a little harder and got a mold to use gas checks with and 1000 gas checks. Hopefully better luck this tin around
