Where does everyone recommend buying gen 3 night vision? Any places to avoid?

I have been looking for some used on the EE for a while but nothing decent and priced right comes up.

Calgary Shooting Centre offers GSCI night vision. While I would personally recommend you go with something a bit higher end such as ActinBlack, GSCI is certainly decent quality. If you want ActinBlack, they are excellent to deal with directly.

From ActinBlack, you will be waiting a bit for shipping/clearing customs from Luxembourg. GSCI from Calgary Shooting looks like about a 2-3 week lead time, so you will get them quicker.

Gen 3 from either are going to be quite expensive. Gen 2+ Photonis Echo tubes will be quite a bit less money than the Gen 3/XR5/4G. Photonis Echo tubes do offer good specs for the money, in my mind, since we can't get any US Gen 3.

I have looked into Photonis echo tubes, I havent seen any companies selling them to non government though.

The best you can do in US is Gen 2, they would be the ones that were allowed to be exported from America before the ban came into effect
PVS4's Gen 2 that take AA batteries

I talked with TNVC some time ago, seems like anything with a 900FOM and above is ITAR regulated and no go for export.

Thats correct, good thing however when I was also talking to them was that Photonis is not ITAR controlled since its European. Many of their tubes are technically gen2+ but even TNVC said that its pretty much equivalent to some of the L3Harris/Elbit Gen3. He said nothing wrong with Echo series especially for Canadians. I know this isnt exactly what OP is asking, but for you guys out there looking to replace/upgrade your old tubes but save the housing, you can talk to these guys.

They export tubes to Canada, the chat guy knows his stuff too.
