So who’s excited for the upcoming waterfowl season? And who’s lucky enough to be heading out tomorrow morning?

What are you shooting and what are your strategies? Lets hear your stories and see your pictures!

I am headed out in Central Alberta tomorrow afternoon for a field hunt. Time to start another season of trying not to smash a molar on the steel shot.

I will start scouting Thursday for a hunt Saturday, but with almost no fields harvested, the season will start slow as usual. As the fields get harvested, and the northern birds come down, the activity will pick up.

Locally the season doesn't open til October. We're going Moose hunting in a few weeks, and in that region the ducks open on the 15th, so depending on how the moose hunting is going we may spend some time chasing ducks. I've got a canoe this year, should make things interesting!

Our season has been open for a while now. I have yet to go out, but when I do it is usually to jump shoot some ducks/geese with a well worn MP-153.

It’s Opening day of waterfowl season in Saskatchewan. My Drahthaar pup Solo made me proud, He retrieved his first bird, and from the water too! Not bad for a dog not yet 6 months old. Stir fried mallard and blue wing teal for supper - yum!
