Hi guys,
I've got my first pistol coming in and I wanted to know what recomendations y'all have for a sight and for the light/laser on the rail for the bottom?
I was looking at holosun 510 and baldr mini

I'd say skip the laser. Picked up an olight valkyrie pl pro that doesn't look out of place on a gun this size. Also realized that night sights aren't nessary with a 1500lumen weapon light thats for sure!! I did replace the red fiber optic rod with a green in my shadow though.

Alright I think you may be right, laser may be tacticool overkill

Visible light lasers are the lamest thing to ever happen to firearms. Go ahead and try one. Let us know how quickly you hate it.

I definitely agree they have no permanent place on a pistol, HOWEVER if you can borrow one definitely do it as it will show you what your POI is doing when you try and pull the trigger. It's a good training aid until you get the correct squeeze and grip force on your pistol.

Nope. You can easily do that with normal practice.

Give XS BigDot sights a try. I think they make them for several CZ models. I love a big dot up front. White, orange, yellow, take your pick. Lasers are for Hollywood. Lose the laser idea.

I’m not sure what a CZ P075 Shadow is but if you’re getting a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow then don’t change the sights at all, a fibre optic front and blacked out rear is one of the best sight combinations out there for a handgun. No need to change them to XS Big Dots or anything else.

*hand to forehead* ok obi wan kenobi, not everyone learns to run before they walk unlike yourself. Maybe the OP doesnt have money to burn on ammo.

I agree normal practice will definitely correct mistakes made during shooting a pistol, but a new shooter is not going to know why they are shooting low right or in any other direction, a BORROWED or even a cheap ass amazon laser will give the new shooter a visual indication of their trigger pull, especially during at home dry firing practice.

Lasers are just another option or tool..... some people only need a rock to hammer a nail, and have limited imagination it would seem. More power to everyone's personal choices.

The latest mini light from Olight does not even add any size to the unit with the built in green laser.... just like some people could argue against an illuminated reticle I suppose, there is always the choice to either turn it on or leave it off..... unless of course you didn't get that option because of someone else's biased opinion.... :)

Lasers can be useful tools to help train. I have one of those cartridge lasers that lights for a split second when you pull the trigger. I like it because I can use it with a regular holster, and it lets me know how I'm doing if I had a mediocre sight picture on a quick draw. I can't convince myself the sight picture was ok, if the dot on the target was in the D-zone. :)

Vogel cautioned me and others in a class about using a laser, because it can lead you to a bad habit of moving your vision from the front sight post, where it belongs, to the target, to look for that little trigger activated dot. So beware of that. I hadn't thought of it until he mentioned it.

This isn't an issue if you use a laser for sighting, as the OP was thinking with that rail-mounted gizmo, because then you're looking at the target, not the front sight post.

Using both a laser and a red dot seems odd though. Battle of the dots! Which one are you going to look at? lol!

After careful consideration of all of your well thought out and reasoned posts, I have determined that I should probably run it with no external sight as that would add heft and maybe limit my holster choices.
For the tacticool light I'm torn, but I still think that it would be fun to have at no extra heft.

Hi everyone! It's arrived!

Here's my turnaround times:
PAL (2015)
RPAL (Oct 2020)
Application mailed (Nov 2020)
Bought CZ on sale from Tesro, held until RPAL cleared (Dec 2020)
RPAL Approved (Apr 2021)
the CZ was shipped on May 6
CZ arrived May 10

Big thanks to Asmir from Tesro, great service :)

I slapped on an o-light since y'all laughed at me for the laser. I like the balance of it.
