Military intelligence
Affordable anschutz

Peaceful protesters

Words that don't fit together.

Thoughtless repetition of cliched phrases doesn't always look good. As noted above, military intelligence is not necessarily an oxymoron. While among leftists it has a very long history of ridicule, many people in the military, including many of those in military intelligence itself, are no intellectual slouches. Furthermore, implying that "peaceful protesters" are by nature violent is shortsighted unless one's point of view is very limited. When CGN members and others take part in firearms rights protests, they do not need to be violent.

You have, it seems, never had any dealings with Int Ops, apparently. Intelligence is part of the trade name, not a pre-requisite to work there. Seemingly, quite the opposite, actually...sadly...

You may be conflating "military intelligence," which refers to information and its collection relevant to activities from preparation, organazation, and resources to operations, strategy, and policy with the more prosaic mental acuity -- or "smarts". The two are very different things, even if some members of military intelligence are not very intelligent.

I wasn't talking to you G. I was directing that directly at mr Marshall, of the too tightly twisted ginch, who was getting worked up over whether the reference to the oxymoronic qualities of the words military intelligence being used together some how meant something else, to which the best possible response is likely "relax Francis".
I have spent enough time sitting through Int briefings that were barely better than a recap of the last hour's CNN reports, to understand the exact meaning those two words used together, so often mean!

We found that being pessimists with a warped sense of humour helped sometimes. If you were pessimistic enough, sometimes things turned out better than you expected, and if they didn't, usually there was still some reason to laugh!

couldnt make this up ....

There was no question about that. Please don't take offense. I was simply noting differences between "military intelligence" and intelligence or intellect in the military. Your observations seem more cynical than pessimistic, but that's neither here nor there.

As you say, "couldnt make this up".

This should be noted and sent to the Guinness people. It's unheard of. It's groundbreaking that on an internet forum that once a simple question has been addressed and what appear like superfluous and thoughtless nonsense is subsequently added that others comment on it.;)

Offense? Nah! That's where the afore mentioned humor comes in! :D

marshall's "are you calling military people stupid?" made him sound like Karen!

I pensioned out of that outfit with 29 years on my pension account, and two bad knees, a spinal fusion, and an eternal fcking hatred for incompetent managers, and believe you me, the vast majority of the tales that get laughed at over beers, when I sit down with a couple friends from work days, revolves around the incredibly stupid decisions made by those latter managers.
If he has not been there, he has not any inkling of what stupid really can be, or how the Military applies it to everyday life, and if he has, he should bloody well know better than to do any more than laugh like the rest of the Vets and serving members over the incongruity of those two words (Military Intelligence)being used together!

As for cynical, yep. You would get that way, had you ever had, for instance, to go get a Captain, to sign off a Supply Order, in order to get Garbage Bags, so you could take the garbage out from the garbage cans. Or if you sat on your ass for a full eight hour shift on a No Fly day, while it is 40 degrees below Zero, and Whiteout Conditions, waiting for 20 F-18's to show up full of guys coming to the Base Commander's Birthday Party. Eventually you develop ways to cope! Some folks see it as a warped sense of humor, but it helps! :)

BTW, the pessimism is for 'before' the stuff actually happens. The cynicism is for after! :)

Cheers!

It ain't just the young ones!

The senior guy running the Int section in the unit I was in in Edmonton <spit> , even the rest of the Int guys rolled their eyes when he started on a roll with his bright ideas.

Like, for example. After Y2K.

"Vary your routes to and from Work to avoid being a target!"

Brought to us by the same group of idiots that decided to stop EVERY friggen car on the way in to the base to check ID's, thus creating solid backed up masses of easy targets of essentially parked cars full of defenseless Military members. Only three gates in to the base. Huge traffic jam every morning for months.

On top of which, there was full public access to the base public school full of all the kids belonging to those military members, just outside the wire.

If you really wanted to raise holy hell as a Terr., would you attack a large spread out Base, do you think, or would you go after the kids of the folks that worked there?

That kind of stupid!

Right on. Made me laugh. Hard for those who haven’t been there to understand how it feels to be treated like incompetent children by someone who is way out of their depth. Also thick skin is a requirement, but we forget not everyone has formed those mental callouses.

The wisner savage mags from Brownells. The 5 round fit my 64 with no mods. Apparently the 10 rounders need mods or something.
Here is item number. 533-400-355
