Pellet Tin Collection

anybody ever get the urge to collect these?

emailed a friend who said he is married and so has no urges, ?????

thinking it might be neat to do so, had a collection of .22 rimfire cartridge boxes in
metal turn style display cases that did turn neat

thinking of calling some dealers and seeing if one can get tins for 5 bucks or less in
tins that have not sold and may be discontinued.

thoughts. pictures. & concerns

if screwed to a 3/8 sob sheet if full they would be heavy, so put pellets in,bags,
Mark them and store them separate ammo cans?


wonder if I contacted the makers if they would have a one-page history on each kind of tin and pellet?
to share with me and the world

books have also been written on rimfire ammo types, maybe not a best seller but interesting

I don't know what brand they were(not Cossman), but they were the only ones CTC sold at the time('60's) I lived in my one horse town.

Brings make memories 'bout the robin and starling hunts in the backyard.

I have some premier hollow point .177 and .22 cal, Ruko magnum .22 and .177 and some others I can't think of off hand right now.

Yep - I collect vintage pellets and tins. Been at it for 40 some years.
Truly collectible, vintage tins will not be inexpensive, in fact, I have seen some tins go for three digit sums.
There is info out there on many of the different manufacturers wares, but may take a bit of research to find.

There is other vintage airgun ephemera to collect as well, such as advertising brochures, paper targets, metal targets, oil tins, and other items, such as the Crosman ash tray, featuring the Crosman Mark I and Mark II pistols.

Collecting vintage pellet tins and other airgun ephemera seems to be more popular in the UK than Canada. The people on the UK airgun sites are a good source of info about this activity.

I had a few unusual ones over the years but this and a small half sized BULLDOG tin are the only ones I have left.

I have a box of Webley 177 Special Pellets No 1 Bore.Light green tin.
Any idea how old and value?

Don't collect them... but I sure do tend to keep them, as they are handy to organize/store small things...

Not a collector but ended up with lots of strange tins.I just buy pellets when I see them on sale, and have many over the decades.

I have some old tins kicking around here . my Dad used to sell all kinds of stuff . I have a couple of pellet pistols I should use in the future . a break action Slavia with a wooden handle . and a Crossman that kind of looks like a Luger , it loads on the side . still in the original box with a tin of crossman pellets . I was told by someone at a gunshow sight unseen that it more than likely will need a new seal where you put the Co2 cartridge in .

Yes, I have a decent collection.
I tend to go at it for a while, then drift away, then get back into it again.

If I can dig thru all the clutter and get to it, I'll post photos...
