Winchesters new trigger

Wow 3-3/4 lbs is certainly not bad for a Hunting Rig...especially outta the box.
I'm guessing the original trigger assemblies were "too pricey" to produce ?

Look like some Fine Rifles to kick back production with nonetheless:cool:

Sounds great! What's not to like about that?!?

Thanks Gatehouse.

More parts. Teflon coating.

The original design was almost perfect for a hunting rifle IMO. It wasn't the trigger 'design' that sunk the M70, more like the execution of the design..............

The m70 wasn't 'sunk' by engineering issues. The Ct. plant had the highest operating costs, worst quality control, and slowest production speed of any USRAC factory. The union threatened a strike and management pulled the plug. Sounds like it was a nasty place towards the end.

Re: the trigger, I'm cautiously optimistic. I really liked the classic trigger, but they typically came from the factory at 6+ pounds with plenty of creep. True they're fully adjustable and are second to none once tuned, but yeah there's room for improvement.

The original 70 trigger was awesome! Though I can't speak much to the later built QC issues.

Perhaps it just wasn't lawyer proof enough?
