Tokarev Mag Release Question

i have a chinese tokarev
the other problem is ....... the mag release button is a bear to push to release the magazine.
i need to use two hands to drop the mag. any ideas as to how to lighten the mag release mechanism???

I can't tell you how to fix it,but there must be a problem with it. I have one and the mag is easy to drop.

Sometimes dried cosmoline can make a button almost impossible to press

Literally strip the gun and drop EVERYTHING that is metal into a pot of boiling water. Let them sit for a while then fish then out and scrub the daylights out of them.
Reassemble and oil as required.

You have two problems then.

Remove the mag release, comes out same as a 1911 basically, clean it, oil it, try it again.

soooooo... ive stripped it down twice and scrubbed the s#!t out of it .... lubed it as well and its still stiff ..... the little spring is tough as hell.... is there a aftermarket spring for the mag release??

i see that oversized mag button .... may be an option ....has anyone clipped their spring??

You've got to make it yourself.

If the spring is too stiff, you can cut a coil off and try that. Go slow...

Is the magazine catch binding on the magazine? Could be the mag hole is out of spec / out of position.

Some of those seem to use truck springs , I haven't taken one apart, but if it is that bad, I would see if some else (colt) may fit, I have saved springs for yrs for this reason, You can clip, but that will not help that much as a rule. A lighter spring is the answer, unless it is binding.
