I just tried to order a Knoxx Spec-Ops stock from Cabelas and they can't ship them to Canada. What a bummer as their catalog price is only $109US.

I know it's not their fault as it is probably a Homeland security issue but it still sucks.

i've been able to get parts i.e. stocks from GPC, that cabelas refused to ship. 3 years ago they refused me on a bore sighter. they claimed i needed an import permit. Brownells told me that they made a list of things they would not ship to canada because they had been refused at the border and sent back. as far as they new they should have crossed into canada with no problem.i wonder if some border guards have their own gun control agenda.

They are opening up a Cabelas in Lacey, WA couple of hour drive from the boarder. Road trip maybe? Forgot to add OPENING NOV 16, 2007!

They are opening a Cabelas in Winnipeg which is even better, you will legally be able to buy anything in the store without worrying about being stopped and possibly charged by US Customs if you buy a controlled item.

The store in Winnipeg might be a little while till we see it.

I'm not too happy with Cabela's...I ordered mid September, and my order still isn't here. I wanted the gear for my moose trip a few a few weeks ago. They offered to resend, but one of the items is now discontinued...

I got the same kind of call from Cabelas today regarding an order for a Bell and Carlson stock for a P17.
Decided to try Bass Pro cause they have a shop in Toronto but I think they also mail order from the US, I will see.

BAck orders? Looks like everything is backed up with Canada Post given the value of the looney and Canadian prices, what can you do.

How close are you to the US Border?

This applies to anyone living near a US Border.
Get a hold of the UPS store in the nearest US town across the border. Many in "border" towns will allow Canadians to use their address as a shipping address (for a small fee of usually $5 a parcel). Then, drive across and pick it up. You will be dealing with Canadian Customs on the way back and they DO NOT require Import Permits for most firearm parts. Just be sure to declare them when you come home.

I've done it many times for a variety of gun and non-gun related items. I've saved a bundle. The extra bonus is most US retailers will ship within USA for FREE. So, find what you like online and you'll only pay the listed price plus GST and PST when you bring it over the border!!

FYI: I am in Ottawa, and the UPS Store in Ogdensburg NY (at the end of HWY 416, 35 minutes from Ottawa) LOVES Canadians!!

At my local border crossing (International Falls Minnesota and Fort Frances Ontario) the US guys are checking (randomly) vehicle LEAVING the US. I would not want any gun parts or ammo in my vehicle in the event I was checked. Having even one round of .22 LR is a FEDERAL offence. It is not worth it to save a few bucks.(unlawful possession of ammo or explosives, non resident alien) Just a cautionary note........

cheers Darryl

Maybe regulations have changed, but I thought the U.S. allowed Canadians to bring back up to a thousand rounds of ammo. I know some gun parts are a non-issue while other, equally harmless, gun parts are strictly forbodden! I just avoid the issue entirely and buy Canadian. ;)
