I think he's more concerned about taking the two trees apart, assuming that the retrofit kit would just be a replacement rear plate. It looks like it's been riveted or equally permanently attached to the front plate and thus really difficult to take apart. Replacing the entire assembly would probably be more viable for most people, but it may be cost-prohibitive for TI if they're sending them out free.

Either way, I'm glad that TI is being so responsive about this. Maybe that'll give us hope to have everything running smoothly by the end of the year lol.

Would be an entire wheel, not just a replacement plate. We think a spot weld might need to be broke to release existing wheel but still awaiting full details. Just want to keep everyone in the loop :)

it should look like this real T81 drum, I pull the pic from chinese T81LMG website 81lmg.jpg

This is sounding very promising for us!!! So long as the spring does not need to be removed (which IF people have actually taken apart a real drum mag) will need some serious tools/machines to coil it up again. Something g your average garage smith would not be able to do

The spring on these Drum mags appears to be captured in its own case, mounted on the spindle. It needs to be this way for the clutch to work properly to release tension while loading...

awesome customer service. My gun shipped today thank you! However, I don’t think it’s technically legal for normal pal or rpal holder to alter the magazine to allow more than 5 rounds and then re pin it. I know, I know pins sometimes fail and guys have no choice but to fix their now illegal magazine but I don’t think there is any provisions in the law for what you are suggesting. Wouldn’t you guys have to take the mags back and repair in house as your BFL likely allows you to possess non limited magazines?

I don't know about you, but I just want the internal assembly as a decoration for my mantelpiece at home. No problems whatsoever there. I'm sure everyone else here also has an empty mantelpiece that wants decorating.

i was going to use it to construct an abstract modern infant mobile for my newborn, an homage to the canada - china friendship that has blossomed under trudy.

I’m not the fun police do whatever you like. A business suggesting customers do something that isn’t legal should maybe reconsider their suggestions or advice. That is all. Enjoy your LMG.
