I only ordered one Drum just to have the look. And I am going to keep it. Tactical imports is a really good company I have ordered a few firearms and accessories from them. They will figure something out so everyone just needs to relax.

Did yours ship yet?

What’s up ? What’s wrong with the drum mag . I’m not sure if the original lmg has a last round hold open or not ? Anyone know ! ??

I too am worried about that, if they are gutted or butchered then I wouldn't of bought them. Im hoping a "block" is no more then a pin welded inside like the sks mags were.

Also the rifle won't be allowed into the states and the mags probably wouldn't be allowed back out...assuming they were allowed in too.

I guess we have found the answer on these drum mags, I am very upset and highly disgusted with what I have seen

They should lower the price on the drums. I bought a 5/75 and had it imported, cost me less than these blocked off abominations

something TI should consider. if there is no kit then mailing mine back to them would cost plenty. i rather have TI give me a deep discount and i keep me the two i bought.

UPDATE
Factory has confirmed that replacement wheel would be all that is needed to revert back. Would be provided upon request, free of charge for install by customer who would have to rivet after replacement. We are awaiting further details on how to install and how soon we could get them

Thanks for the update. Definitely interested in replacement wheels.

I'm not too sure how easy it really is to take apart these drums.
I'm hoping the factory has a step by step process that doesn't require specific tools to do it.

I am interested in a "kit" to fix my drums I have coming

Is there any information you guys can provide regarding current order number being shipped, or whether tracking information is being updated in real time?
thanks

They are easy to take apart. When you get an AK drum, it’s covered in cosmo so you have to take them apart to clean

I think he's more concerned about taking the two trees apart, assuming that the retrofit kit would just be a replacement rear plate. It looks like it's been riveted or equally permanently attached to the front plate and thus really difficult to take apart. Replacing the entire assembly would probably be more viable for most people, but it may be cost-prohibitive for TI if they're sending them out free.

Either way, I'm glad that TI is being so responsive about this. Maybe that'll give us hope to have everything running smoothly by the end of the year lol.

Will the drums in the second shipment be pinned instead of riveted/welded? If so I may cancel my order and wait. I don’t really want to have to mess around trying to fix a drum when it cost $200.

Yes, that would be complicated
But they are saying a replacement wheel, a wheel is an assembly made up of more than one component.
I couldn’t see it being just the single tree, all assumptions but time will tell.

Good point. I would also assume that it would be a complete swap wheel but as you said time will tell. I have relatively high confidence that TI will do the "right" thing and I'm looking forward to getting my order again :d
