listen up.
^ Nice, lad!
you are not making sense but if you solo hunt then I wish you would consider one of those devices for your own good and your own safety.
Regardless of what you decide for yourself I wish you well and wish that you always return safely .
But please end this discussion.
To some, carrying InReach devices is like wearing a face mask. However I'm focused with common sense - on the game to hunt and not the gizmos!
Are you?
I was all set to get an inReach but going a different route.
Iridium Go.

Take personal communications further
Iridium GO! is unlike anything the world has seen before. Powered by the world's furthest reaching network, this compact, rugged and portable unit dramatically extends the capabilities of any smartphone, laptop or tablet by creating a satellite-backed Wi-Fi hotspot anywhere on the planet.
The Iridium Go has a high up front cost compared to other satellite communicators out there. Also, have you looked into what the monthly service fee for it will be?
Grabbed a SpotX and haven’t activated it yet but I’m looking forward to having it on my pack when I head north in about 3 weeks. For $200 (plus the subscription costs of course) as others have mentioned it’s pretty cheap insurance. Tracking feature will be neat for a few friends and relatives who hunt, allowing them to follow my progress on any given day. Also nice to know if some sort of emergency happens at home, I can be contacted.
