$100000 Over/Under

If I could find someone willing to pay $50,000 for my SKS-D, then I would be able to say this Norc is worth $50k. Something is only "worth" as much as whatever sum someone is willing to pay for it.

My first round of trap with my $277 Mossberg, I broke 22 out of 25 birds. "I" missed the three birds, no fault to the Mossberg. Would I pay $100,000 for a shotgun? Not in this lifetime!
 
it's fun to joke about a $100,000.00 plus shotgun, because nobody here can even fathom such a purchase, at least i don't think too many here can. but lets at least recognize it for what it is.some one stated ealier about the hours that go into these guns. in some cases i know they go well over 1000 hours. it takes your order from purdey 2 years or better to be delivered. alot of different people,artisans ,work on each gun.try their website sometime. very informative and there are more manufacturers out there than purdy who do this.

Walking around money.

Now this starts to get a bit pricey, when you get a matched set of 4 Perazzi's

The Perazzi set has "inflated" a bit ... handled all 4 of a similar set in 2000 when they were "bargain priced" at only $ 370,000 for the four. They are incredible firearms, and if you've got the jack - worth every penny (to those who care about such things) , whether you pick one of the English or Italian "bespoke bests". For that kind of money it is made to your specific measurements taken at their shooting grounds with a try gun ... you get to pick the specific piece of exhibition grade wood, finish, type & style of engraving,(possibly even the engraver) ...basically everything about the gun ... within the makers control and the range of what's possible on the gun. And yeah, a pretty nice case comes with ! Sort of like Rolls Royce's & Bentleys or Ferraris & Lambourghinis ... Saville Row or Georgio Armani custom tailored suits, bamboo fly rods and original paintings. Nice for those who like it ... and can afford it.

Grouseman: Traditional leather-covered pads do stand a little proud of the wood.

I've looked over a couple of the Perazzi 4 gun sets and as much as I like Perazzis thought them overpriced. With that amount of money you find yourself capable of owning the best of the best and even the finest Perazzi isn't quite in the same league as a Fabbri, Bosis or even the higher end Famars guns, not to speak of what you could find in the UK.
 
A Purdey is a piece of functional art. Art is always priced way too high for those who don't appreciate it, and some art is just junk sold at high prices to the unsuspecting, but a Purdey is not junk.
 
Take a squint at ww w.colegun.com ... although most of their wood
is for Berettas, Rizzini's & Guerini's ... you'll at least get an idea of
what the pretty stuff costs. And it's "Turkish" ( or "Circassian") Walnut,
very much different than American Black Walnut.
 
Don't forget, an Item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It can sit on the shelf for 20 years at that price. It does not mean its worth 100K....

Would you please direct me to the dealer that has either a new Browning B25 (not a Citori) for $1,350 or a new Holland and Holland for $20,000.

Might want to check what these guns are actually going for. ;)
