Smiles! Boy's First Front Stuffing Trail Walk

Took the boy out for his first trail walk today. It was a short event today but hey. He's seven; I built that rifle for my oldest daughter when she was seven BUT she was soooo much taller than him at that age! He is also left handed.

If he enjoys it I guess it's an excuse to build him one?

Also tried out my new to me 1858 Remington, that was a "blast" for sure.
 
That's excellent! So great to see kids into muzzleloading.

It's really tough to find kid size rifles. My Dad built a smaller one but not down to 7yo size.
Need to get my boys out soon.

Yup; and I knew my older daughter was tall for her age I just didn't appreciate how MUCH taller than average she was at the time. She's 15 now holy smokes time flies. That LOP fit her perfectly at seven; but my boy there was struggling with it. Could stand to be a couple inches shorter for him. But since he's left handed it's looking like a new build, if he is keen.

Ha ha perfect!

My 15 year old daughter shoots IDPA with me; she has her own S&W M&P Pro. I think she was 12 when she cleaned up at a steel match with my Ruger MKIII. She, however, does not appreciate muzzleloaders. She's more into the action shooting.

He`s 14 now, little use for muzzle loaders, when he has to pay for the ammo that may change though. Looking into some stuff to do when we move back home, i think i`ll want to get into some of that competitive stuff, and i think he will follow me then
