Well................

The rifle definitely doesn't like W760 powder.

BUT

H4350 has definite nodes and potential.May not need much more tuning , maybe a .2 or .3 of a grain on either side of 68 and 70 , confirm consistency and sight in.

Better consistency that last the 12 months of effort.
Load details....

180gr SC II's.
Rem brass
215 primer
3.340"

Again, not sure how much faith I can put in the clock.

How say you?

Your findings with 760 in a magnum case are pretty consistent. That powder just doesn't perform as well in the larger case as the extruded H4350 or other extruded powders.

I have a friend that I reload 200 rounds of 300WM for every year.

I don't shoot his rifle, simply because I find the recoil offensive.

We finally settled on a load for his rifle, around three years ago.

Hornady 180 grain #30709 IP

72.0 grains of IMR4350 because he has an 8 pound container full and it's basically the same as H4350

Velocity out of his 26 in Hart bbl = 2940 fps average

CCI 250 primers.

WW brass

His rifle is zeroed for 200 yards and delivers slightly over an moa out to 500 yards.

Another powder, which is a tad slower grouped just as well and maybe was a bit better in cold weather was IMR7828ssc. Velocity was slower, but only marginally.

KT, hawk-1 gives good advice.

You don't have to adjust your scope at all. Just shoot for group size and if it's better, adjust your scope to poi after you're satisfied with the load. That 68 grain group looks pretty good.

I was implying that if that is a good load and it stays where it is at I could leave as is for POI. ;)

Not good conditions this afternoon to do any more testing.Major wind gusts so I will wait for another day.

P.S. - The damn plastic bolt shroud squeaks like a mouse when cycling the rifle.Apart it comes!

Your 64 H4350 is the most accurate while 68 is less although faster. It really comes down to what are looking for: accuracy or speed. Since your ES and SD are low for both loads, I would try a COL of 3.33 and 3.32 before changing powder charge if I were you.

Well I have to wait for calmer days also, it was gusting over 40km/hr yesterday and got progressively worse so I am quite certain that I can get those groups to tighten up a little as they are.

If I can get 1-1.25 MOA roughly on a load I think I'll take it.As it is a hunting rifle I wouldn't mind having a bit of velocity but a balance with repeatable accuracy.

Sure, 1-1.25 moa for hunting is more than enough. Recently, i was testing a load for my 270 win. I was getting 1.1 with one load and 3.20 COL. Went down to 3.18 COL and my group went also down to 0.47. Both are good for hunting but 0.47 is better, specially when it comes to long rang shooting, which i suppose you would like to do since you are looking for the higher speed. In my case, all it took was loading 3 more cartridges.

Yes, I do have particular wants out of said rifle and if I wanted 2700 ft/sec I would of gone with a smaller chambering indeed.

I will work the 68gr and possibly the 70 load and I might also try the LRAB that I have on hand.

Just need better wind days, it's getting rather sickening having wind here all the time.
