Its a free country but "only modify" your wall hangers....whatever that is supposed to be. Sounds like your a miserable human who likes to tell everyone what to think and do.

Freedom and choice is a good thing, whether we are talking about personalizing a "hunting" rifle or your truck.

I was thinking the same thing. I generally add some after market part or upgrade to almost all my rifles, doesn't hurt anyone else a dam bit and is none of their F'ing business. I honestly don't really worry about what other people do to their stuff, its theirs, not mine, I have no say in it whatsoever.

One action lenght with bolt stop and mag spacer is INGENIUS ! and WOW the LUG - BOLT- STOCK (great recoil pad ) are NOT problems ! Totally Very Funtional rifles and Very Accurate ! Also Tikka has the BEST factory trigger too ! You know you want one ! lol RJ

Some funny stuff.
Tikka T3 is a great rifle.You open the box and go shoot it.You don’t have to do anything except know how to shoot.The bolt is so smooth and the barrels so good it killed everybody else ( there is a reason Remington went bankrupt) there is no other rifle out there that can compare at its price.The rifle does the job, and keeps doing it.They are light, easy handling, and shoot very well.
If you want to bling them out, there are all kinds of after market parts too.
I know guys that spend thousands on rifle tuning and still just shoot the same groups as a Tikka out of the box.
Bergera makes nice barrels if they want too.But handle the Bergera, shoot it, and then do the same with Tikka.It is not even a contest.
Beretta ain’t stupid...they bought Sako/Tikka and have left them the hell alone to keep making rifles for a reason.

I took that to heart and looked into it more. The only bergera I had hands on was an Hmr which is a heavy pig in a plastic stock.


But the mountain premier 2.0 looks like a pretty sweet hunting rig. Wonder what it costs out the door? 6.2 lbs and a full carbon stock.

Tikka factory stocks just dont fit me right to the point that a 308 in tikka feels like 300wm in a savage off the bench
The bergera timberline is a great rifle. Fit me great and shot extremely well. If i were in the market for a new rifle bergera and kimber would be high on my list

He didn’t say they were crap - he answered the question which was where does Tikka cut corners. Now we all know they cut corners in ways that most folk won’t mind, but being budget rifles they are designed with many cost saving measures.
Also, I have 2 T3s and one has a loose recoil lug.

If those beautiful bastards want to spend money on silly rims/fat tires and crazy lift kits, good for them for supporting small businesses and ruin their car/truck in the same process. lets not even get started on engine modification, so few people actually get it right. all the aftermarket parts have almost zero resell value. Best way is to get a vintage V8 sports car and maintain it meticulously.

Hunting rifle is like your daily driver; don't fk around with it, and it will be reliable. If people enjoy modify guns, they should do it on a wall hanger.

I haven't handled the Bergara so cannot comment on which is better.

The thing I like about Tikka that was not mentioned is the 60 degree bolt lift, I seem to jam my thumb on the scope with a 90 degree bolt.

Tikka has a 70 degree throw, I think you need to get into a 3 lug like Browning Xbolt for a 60 degree throw. Helps a bit with scope clearance for sure, but at the cost of being slightly more force to #### the action.
 
Thanks for clearing up that mistake Hitzy, I must have forgot the specs.

There may be more force to #### the action but the Tikka action is generally smooth nonetheless. The action force is not my issue as much as jamming my thumb, perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Tubb 2000 rifle also has 70 degree throw which is optimal from ergonomic point of view!
The entire 3 lug design is more related to mechanical strength than accuracy or ergonomics.
Tikka T3 rifle are the Toyota Camry of hunting rifle, excellent engineering and manufacturing but not the best.
