Anyone here use the Near Alpha mount? If so what are you using it on and what do you think of it?

also do you think this mount would work when sharing one scope between two rifles?

Thanks

I have 2 of em and there great, having the ability to repeat zero when pulling the optic off is awesome. I paired mine with a Near rail.
Use it on my 300RUM and 260rem.

I have a couple as well. Very high quality. Relatively light I would say. Less than a spuhr.
I switched out spuhr mounts for Near alphamounts and felt it was an upgrade for my needs and taste.

Beautiful mounts . Would buy again. Use on on an ssg3000 in 6.5 Skan

Here is what I discovered about Near Mounts. They have NEVER left a mark on any of my scopes . So good mounts like Near help maintain your resale value.

I have a few of Richards mounts, two of his three rings Alpha Mounts, one on a Remington 700 7mm SAUM and the other on a KS Arms 22-250. The one on my 7SAUM was swapped between that and a 260 I used to have for PRS shooting. It was extremely easy to move between rifles and kept a consistent point of impact when torquing the rings down the same.
His light weight Alpha Hunter mount is also really nice I have three on various Remington's and a HS Precision. Fit and finish is top notch. Always happy to support a really good Canadian manufacturer!

Is it possible for on of you to tell me what the distance between the crossbolts are?

Thanks

Hi TrxR,
Old thread so I don't know if you already got all your questions answered? For your question above, I inserted two measurements in a photo attached of my Near Mfg Alphamount 34mm medium height, on a Near 20MOA ss rail, mounted on my Tikka T3X. In case it doesn't link, center-to-center for cross bolts = 3.55", and inside space between top ring caps = 2.45".

This is brand new received early this spring, and I only have only had the opportunity to shoot it in two Range sessions before my local Range had to covid-close. I have not switched it between rifles, or switched out scopes. Near Mfg claims their Alphamount has extreme repeatability when replaced on the same rail. Folks in posts above have mentioned that its working for them. The mounts are being used by some winning F-class shooters, so that tells you something.

The Alphamount is beautiful, fit and finish are superb. I really like it.

IMO the design for how exactly how the rail fits with the receiver is critical. Near's Tikka rail has the recoil lug milled into the rail. Near also provides different length screws for each of Tikka's receiver screw holes to maximize thread contact but not protrude inside the action. That attention to detail impressed me.

Thanks for that info. Im seriously looking at one for 30mm scope in his tallest height which i believe is 1.5"
