The unlucky Hardy
I was always sceptical of carbon fibre wrapped barrels being a materials technology engineer, just could not make sense of them. Even so I had a rifle built with a Hardy carbon barrel. Now after about 1.5 years of trying... with two rifle smiths involved, one can say the rifle improved from initially 2" to 1" best 3/4". Never had a rifle as inaccurate as this one. Even cheapest factory rifles I zeroed for friends were better. The carbon barrel does not come close to the T3 factory rifles with factory ammo I also have.... why bother? I do hunt with the Hardy barrelled rifle however she will be replaced.
Just bought an old T3 action which will get a stainless steel barrel again. At the moment I am thinking old school Lothar Walther, maybe even get them to chamber and lapp the barrel.
