Mauser 98 Scout

I purchased a 1916 dated 8mm Mauser 98 that was already heavily modified. I am looking to "scout" it with an Aimpoint type RDS to maintain the use of stripper clips. Anyone know a quality mount that does not require the removal of the rear iron sight? Purpose would be as a rifle for bear hunting, close range deer hunting and practical rifle marksmanship. Thank you.

I think that's a tall order - "...does not require the removal of the rear iron sight...". I'd love to hear what you end up doing as I'm considering a similar thing.

I think he means one that replaces the rear sight. Talking to him, he wanted something more permanent. I suggested the XS mount as well.

Thanks! I cant believe I forgot about the XS Sights systems. I've been out of the gun and gear thing for a while.
