Flashlight recommendations for tactical shotguns

On a related note, I'd love an authorized dealer in Canada to order in some Surefire LM1-B and LM2-B assemblies and get them in country for me to buy. Surefire won't ship, and it seems like no one likes having Surefire stuff in stock. I'd even preorder for a dealer I trust. I bet there are a few of us with shotgun forends from back when Surefire pricing wasn't near the price of the gun that'd buy the upgrade parts. I'd buy one of each.
The Remington MCS short bar forend for tactical shotguns are made specifically to fit Photon LED lights, one on either side if you like. The forend comes with little Photon-shaped filler pieces screwed into the forend. Pressing the switch with finger or thumb (or both for two flashlights) gets your light going and the little holes in the front hand stop keep the beam facing forwards. Not good for longer barrels though, has to be on a Dlask barrel or similar, else the barrel throws a huge shadow pretty much right on your target.
If you’re going that route a Surefire G2X will serve you well, or Streamlight Scorpion. Very good value and won’t break the bank. Those are handheld lights so you’ll still need a ring/clamp to mount it to your rail. Olight weapon lights could also be another option, much smaller and they seem to be quite popular. And they attach directly to your rail system.

Cool setup. But that light only illuminates the immediate area you’re shooting the breaching round into and won’t go any further than the end of the barrel. Breaching shotguns are tools, not weapon systems.

Surefire lights are all I use, but they are hard to get right now.

Yeah, ammunition in the popular calibres is apparently very hard to buy in a lot of US states now as well. And a lot of popular models of guns. So far it doesn't seem we're hit very hard in Canada, though some prices are creeping up, with a few actually going down. But I'm told by my nearby friendly gun store owner that a lot of stuff is borderline impossible to get from US-based suppliers right now, so shortages are virtually inevitable in the coming months.

Maybe some posters did not understand the way I said it, but my gun has a Picatinny/Weaver style attachment area. I simply put a cheap, but fairly bright 3 AAA flashlight in a Weaver steel ring that was laying around. Mounted fairly close to where my hand rests, I can access the thumb switch fairly easily and momentarily if needed with my thumb.
It was an interesting experiment that works fairly well. May have to loosen the ring a little, as I think it may be constricting the tube a little. For a more serious light, I'd probably look for a Fenix or steel body Pelican.
For the OP, a lot of things will work, depending on what you are after. I think the only thing I'd stay away from is excessively cheap lights as the switches go, and I'd never go with a regular bulb, as LED will take the shock, and last beyond what the rest of the light will last.
With all the recommendations for the Surefire I found a DSF870 on Amazon.ca ( of all places lol), so i ordered it for my 10" Dlask/Tacord 870 i had built. This gun I never set a $ limit on so thought What the hell lol. Should be in Nov 5this, thanks guys

My EDC light is a Surefire backup, it's taken a beating and still works perfect after 4 years.
