Hi-Power barrel crack w pics.. Suggestions?

is it possible that you re-assembled it with the spring guide upside down? doing so causes a lot of wear and stress
^^^ Maybe you meant installing the recoil spring backwards... although I doubt even that would cause this failure. Possible I guess...

What to do?
Sounds like a good excuse to get a fancy Bar-Sto or equiv. barrel ;) Were you shooting prior to the failure? If so, one shot or many? Looks like it failed on the return-motion of the slide. I'd strip down that P35... my $0.02 Cheers

This is great guys. Thanks for all the advice.
I have faxed in an order to Marstar for their barrel. Even though it's cheaper as CanAm has stated, with Sarco being across the border, I don't think it's worth the headache.
I will follow up with Browning to see what their solution is.
Cheers

The military has a few hundred thousand (I joke) Brownings in the system. Every soldier in Afghanistan seems to be issued one, so there are at least 3000 serviceable ones. At some point in the depths of time the military encountered the same problem as you have. Their solution was to fit relacement barrels from FN. The identification difference between a Canadian one-piece military barrel and a replacement Belgian barrel is an obvious weld seam connecting the leg to the barrel. These welds break.

Didn't help that we feed them a steady diet of the IVI 9mm ammo which is either +P or +P+

right you are, importing a barrel requires an export permit out of the US.
