Crosman 2240

They are great pistols, just dont start looking to upgrade parts or you may regret it. Spending triple the original purchase price or more is very very easy to do. I started with one and now I have 4 in a variety of different configurations. Easy $400 in one alone.

I feel your pain, I'm finally down to just 2, but I had 7 at one point.

I had a 1322KTE, a pump variation of the 2240 with a longer barrel and detachable shoulder stock.

It shot with amazingly accuracy and slew many pests, but however it seemed to have a lot of drop at distance even at max stock velocity, and of course pumping got old after a while.

I kind of want to get another Crosman pistol, but I'm not sure if I could go back to pump or CO2.

The 13xx series guns are a different family from the 2240. Different body diameter, parts don't interchange. The 13XX guns descend from the same line as the 760 pump rifle, While the 2240 is more a descendant of the 150/160 series CO2 guns.

Crosman built a LOT of variations of both rifles and pistols on essentially the same parts bins, with minor changes along the way, starting right about the post WW2 years.

Hard to beat the pump guns for cheap backyard shooting! One or two pumps and go! Pretty quiet too, comparatively.

The power output (and noise) of the 2240 can be dialed back with a lighter hammer or lighter hammer spring.
Some of the older models had adjuster screws that allowed you to change the preload on the spring, and a few models also had two click cocking, with the first click being considerably less power than the second.

It's a pretty interesting rabbit hole to go down! LOL! And they can become a strange addiction.

I really like Crosman guns! Lots of worse things to be doing than to be playing around with toys that make ya happy, eh?

Grip Frame, grip panels & Trigger parts, Breeches, barrels, probes, stock.. Alot of 13xx/and 22XX parts are interchangeable. Only the maintubes and it contents are different.

I have a Crosman 150, with a 2240 Grip frame. Low power, I get 40 shots, avg 389 ( 13.73grn ), with a ES of 12. New ones good luck with that without a SSD.

I have been thinking of doing a build on crosman 2260 parts. Being a rifle, not a pistol will keep it NR at high velocities. See some fun looking 2240 rifle builds online, but being a pistol, they become a restricted if they cross the power limit.
In theory, if one were to build their own lower tube (the serialized component) they should be able to build it as a NR so long as OAL requirements are met, I would believe.

You can buy the 2260 main tubes directly from Crosman Canada for cheap to convert a 2240 into a 2260 pistol. You will also need a barrel, longer fill tube/plug, and likely a shoulder stock to keep the overall length legal depending on barrel length.

My 2240 recently turned into a 500+fps 2260 which is the legal way to get these in to the over 500fps velocity range. I recently picked up a second 2240 which I'll be doing the same thing but in .177 so it will be a 1760. These things are cheap to buy but lead to a big rabbit hole of mods and upgrades.

Thanks for the link! They actually seem to have parts, unusual these days when it’s hard to buy appliances and cars lol!
