Everything I have read on the subject says that it has to have a barrel length no shorter than 18.5 inches and have an overall length not shorter than 26 &3/4 inches.I would like to have a "legal sawed off" shotgun; buy a cheap single shot and make a pistol grip (or cut original) Also maybe shorted the barrel by several inches while still maintaining the non-restricted status.
Would make a nice wilderness/bush gun and fan range toy IMO...
Anyone done that? Opinions? what gun did you use? pics?
who makes it? 12" barrel sounds good
EDIT: is it Boito Hiker?
don't know if you even need to have it reverified if its still non restricted and still over 470 mm there is no change in its status,
.
I think you would to save trouble down the road when the gun barrel length didn't match what's on the registration card.
IM_LUGGER; I believe it's a IGA Backpacker. They've been out for a while, kinda cute in a fuggy way, reg length stock & 12" barrel.
Or you could get the Dlask 8.5" shotgun, its an 870 based gun and is non-restricted.
You don't pattern an 8.5" barrel, you shoot slugs out of it!
Here is my truck gun.
