BM59's in Canada ?

Saddly, the BM59 and BM62 are on the really really bad guns list. There is an on-line query builder that accompanied a newspaper story based on a chunk of the supposedly confidential gun registry information. According to the link, which is still active, there are 14 registered BM59s and 4 registered BM62s. All are in the Prohibited class as semi-automatic, converted automatic or fully automatic.

So, yes there are guys who like the look and feel of mid-century Italian ingenuity, but our government does want anyone else to have the pleasure. (And my wife is of mid-century German descent, so I'll leave the Italian wife jokes to other fellows.)

I have 2 BM62's Both Berben import Berettas and a Type "E" parts kit ,which is basically a M1 Garand with a BM59 magazine.
I hope to someday build the kit into a working rifle . I have a M1 Garand receiver that needs to be modified for the magazine and the clip latch .
I was wondering why I never see anyone post here about them .
It all makes sense now. The '62's are sure fun to shoot ! Way better than any M1A or Garand .

Some one on this forum made a magazine-fed Garand. That was a few years ago. A tremendous amount of work. Maybe someone saved the link or knows who did it.
